Sophia
"Wake up Soph," a voice said, bringing me out of my peaceful sleep.
I cracked open one eye and saw my twin leaning over the bed with a wide smile on his face. I smiled back as I remembered what day it was. Today we turned eighteen, which meant that we could finally have a party without our parents.
"Morning Charlie," I said, slowly sitting up.
He hated being called Charlie by anyone except his family. Our teachers at school tried calling him that once and it didn't end to well when they did and he told them to stop. Let's just say that there was no math for a week.
I looked around my light blue room and looked over at my desktop. My computer was still on from last night when I was talking to Lily about today. I looked back at my smiling brother and raised an eyebrow at him.
"You do know what day it is, right?" he asked.
I shrugged. "Is it Saturday?"
He frowned at me playfully. "It our birthday!"
I laughed and punched his shoulder. "I know it is! Do you know what tomorrow is?"
He frowned again, confused. Charlie shook his head when he couldn't figure it out. I motioned him to come closer as if I had a secret to tell him.
"It's Sunday," I whispered, holding in my laughter.
He pulled away and glared at me and I couldn't hold in my laughter anymore. "It's also the day you get to take over the pack!" I said.
He beamed with pride. "I know! I can't wait!"
We smiled at each other for another second before we heard pounding feet running down the hallway. Tommy appeared in the doorway with a large smile on his face. His brown hair was wet from his shower, his black t-shirt was on backwards, and his dark blue jeans were ripped in the knees.
"Happy birthday!" Tommy shouted as he ran into the room and jumped onto my bed, tackling both Charlie and me into a hug. "I can't believe you guys are now four years older than me."
I laughed as I pushed him off me. "Yeah, but only for a few months."
"But at least you have badass older siblings," Charlie said. Pushing his own pride forward, like usual. I always made fun of him for it though.
"What word did you just say, Charles?" mom said, walking into my room with dad right behind her.
Charlie gulped and then shook his head, knowing that mom doesn't like it when we swear. I didn't see much of a problem with it; she swears, but only when she's mad or frustrated, like me. Charlie was more like dad in every possible way, swearing almost every other sentence. Tommy was the exception; he swore, but it was in between.
Mom shook her head as a smile appeared. "Happy birthday you two!"
I jumped out of my bed and ran over to hug her. I loved hugging my mom. She was always so soft and, I guess squishy, as well as the fact that her scent was so comforting. Mom kissed my forehead since we were about the same height and then she pulled away and hugged Charlie.
"Come here Squirt," dad said, pulling me into a giant hug. "Happy birthday little girl."
I looked up at him and smiled. "I'm not a little girl anymore."
"Wrong," he said, smiling. "You'll always be my little girl."
After the hug-fest we all went downstairs for a large birthday breakfast. Mom made waffles and pancakes, eggs, bacon, toast, French toast, and there was plenty of fruit to go around. I smiled as I saw Aunt Cristy and Uncle Caleb sitting at the table already with Lily, Leo, Julia, and Justin.
