Sophia

I briskly walked into the school, but before I could start following the scent, I had to stop in the office to let them know I was here and then stop at my locker. I walked into the office and handed them the small piece of paper with my excuse for being late, mom said I had a doctor appointment, and then I practically ran to my locker.

I quickly put in my combo and pulled out my books and put my backpack in. Once I had my English textbook I closed my locker and started walking to my studyhall. English was next hour, and study hall was almost over, but I needed to find out where my mate was. His scent was so strong and so intoxicating.

Wait a second...Charlie was in my study hall, maybe he could help me find him!

I stopped walking as the scent of fresh laundry and vanilla filled my nostrils. My mate was behind my study hall door. He was in my class! My stomach had thousands of butterflies before I slowly opened the door.

Charlie

Michael had the exact same schedule that I did, and now we were sitting in studyhall doing nothing but small talk. The teacher was gone, trusting us highschoolers with being productive and quiet. Yeah, that's not possible.

"So, who's your mate?" Michael suddenly asked.

I let my chair slam down onto the floor as I leaned forward. I frowned at him and said, "Why do you want to know?"

"Just starting another of our great conversations," he smirked.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "Lily Snyder."

He nodded. "She's nice."

I growled. There were no humans in this class, only werewolves, most from my pack but now a few new ones from Michael's. Why was he talking to Lily?

"Hey, I'm paying your mate a compliment," Michael said.

"She doesn't need compliments from you."

Michael looked away toward the door to calm himself down before he looked back at me. "Sorry, I didn't mean anything by it."

I nodded. I leaned back in the chair, raising it from the ground. We sat in silence for a few moments before I asked him, "So where's your mate?"

He smiled. "I don't have a mate. The bachelor life is pretty nice as it is."

I laughed, despite how much I disliked him. He wasn't a bad guy, I just didn't feel like I could trust him yet. But he was pretty funny at times. Almost like Sophia.

Thinking of my sister made my laugh stop and my smile fade. I sitll couldn't believe she was upset about me having a mate. I know she'll find a good guy soon.

Michael started to look around, his eyes a little wide as he inhaled. I raised an eyebrow at him. Was he on drugs?

"Who mowed the grass? And who has lavander?" he asked, looking around.

Everyone shrugged or else shook their head. I inhaled and didn't smell lavander, or mowed grass, I smelled my sister beyond the door. She slowly opened the door and walked in, but stopped as she looked around the room. She looked confused, as if searching for something, and then her eyes stopped at the person in front of me; Michael.

Michael stared back at her for a second before he leaped up and jumped over the tables and chairs and people. He landed right in front of my sister and wrapped his arms around her, causing Sophia to drop her books.

"Mine," he growled.

I stared at them in horror before it became anger.

"Oh hell no!" I shouted, my chair scraping the floor.
