"I'm really sorry about yesterday," I apologized to Simon, now that we finally have a minute alone. Michael refused to leave the two of us alone, but the other doctor was busy with someone else and somebody had to speak with the alpha about something or other so that allowed me some alone time with Simon.
He smiled. "Don't worry, I understand your reasoning for doing it."
"You do?"
He nodded as he finished wrapping my arm. "Yep, last night I found my mate after you left. She's from your old pack, Jessie Parker."
I smiled. "Yeah, I remember Jessie. She's perfect for you, she loves taking care of animals."
He smiled. "So I learned. But anyway, I can understand why you did that...just let me know before you to it again."
I laughed. "Don't worry, I don't think I'd do it again, at least not to you."
He frowned. "I mean I don't want you to do it again. Your this pack's alpha female now, no one is going to want you to kiss anyone else except Michael."
I smiled. "Yeah, I know."
The door opened and Michael walked in and smiled at me. He left the door open as he stood next to me and then frowned at Simon. I elbowed him in the ribs and he glanced at me before looking back at Simon.
"I'm sorry about what I did," he siad.
Simon smiled widely. "Everything's fine!"
"Whoa, what happened? What did you do?" I asked.
Michael rubbed the back of his neck and looked anywhere but at me while Simon glanced over his papers before he lied, saying he had to check on someone else. When he was out of the room and the door was closed, I stood up off the table and frowned at Michael. He finally looked me in the eyes and sighed.
"I, might've, almostsortathreatenedhim," he mumbled. He obviously hoped I wouldn't understand what he said, but when you have Tommy as a brother who mumbles all the time, you become quite skilled at decoding mumbles.
"You what?!" I exclaimed. "Threatened him? Why?!"
"Well, he was the person you kissed who wasn't me, so I just wanted to, ugh! I don't know! Salem wanted him dead."
I gaped at him. "Dead! Thank God you didn't kill him though!"
Michael growled lowly. "So, you have feelings for him?"
I sighed and embraced Michael's tense body in a hug. I missed his hugs, and when he wrapped his arms around me, I felt complete. He kissed the top if my head and I breathed in his scent, calming myself down.
"I love you," I said.
"I love you too."
"You and only you," I sighed.
I felt his chest vibrate in a content growl, and I smiled. I suddenly pulled back from him and kissed him. He was surprised at first, but he quickly retaliated and kissed me back. Tingles spread everywhere and there were thousands of butterflies in my stomach. How did I get such a great mate?
We slowly broke apart our kiss and then Michael smiled...evilly. He suddenly picked me up bridal style, causing me to squeal. He started to carry me out of the clinic and toward the house.
"Michael! Where are we going?" I laughed.
He smiled. "We, are going to finish our mating process."
I blushed wildly. "What? Now?"
He smirked and held me closer to him. "Yep."
I started to squirm out of his grip, but he laughed and threw me over his shoulder, laughing as he did. I kept telling him to put me down, but he always denied it.
And so, we were walking through the yard of our pack house, me yelling at him and him laughing at me. I couldn't think of a more perfect way to end this day, than with me being with my mate.
