"What movie are we watching tonight?" I asked as soon as I entered Daniel's front door.

"You're going to love it!" Daniel said, running into the living room from the kitchen. "It's brand new!"

"Well, what is it?"

"It's a musical-," Daniel started.

"Into the Woods!" I exclaimed.

He sighed yet smiled. "Yep."

I've wanted to see that movie ever since it came out, but I never got the chance. I love musicals because of how unrealistic they are. You don't just burst out into song and there's no musical orchestra just waiting in your pocket to play when the time for a song feels right. But I do love it altogether.

I threw my coat on the chair and took my sneakers off as I walked over to the couch and sat down. Daniel already ordered the pizza and picked it up, so I had a large taco pizza just for me while Daniel had a large pepperoni.

"Where's Samson?" I asked. "Is he going to join us?"

"No way! This is our night, remember? Ever since seventh grade?" Daniel asked. He didn't really like to break traditions. "He's off with his cousins tonight."

"Okay then."

Daniel turned on his TV and started setting the movie up as he sat down next to me. I loved Daniel's 'L' shaped couch because I could easily put my feet up on the long part, and he always sat next to me with his feet down, but sometimes we both sat on the long part.

"So, what did your new boyfriend say about you coming here tonight?"

"He doesn't really know I'm here."

Daniel quickly looked at me. "Am I going to get in trouble for being here alone with you?"

I laughed. "I doubt it. I think he knows you prefer guys over girls, and that you have a mate already."

He nodded and then the movie started. Daniel handed me a blanket to throw over my legs and he turned the lights off as I placed my pizza box on my lap. Once Daniel was situated next to me, he stretched his arms over the end of the couch and he propped his feet up on the ottoman.

Once we were well into the movie, Daniel spoke up in the middle of a song.

"So, why were you worried if I was safe earlier?"

I sighed, not really wanting to remember it. "Well, if I tell you, you can't tell Charlie, dad, or Michael, got it?" I said, looking at him.

He nodded his head.

"Well, for the past few days, I've gotten texts from a random number and then ealier they called me. They were saying that they had you and that they would break your finger or else kill you if I didn't 'go with them quietly' so that they could 'study' me," I explained, adding air quotes when needed.

Daniel frowned. "Why would they want to study you?"

"He said that I wasn't a werewolf and I wasn't a human, so I was very interesting to the scientists."

His frown deepened. "Shouldn't you tell Charlie or Michael about this?"

"No!" I exclaimed. "Just because you weren't there when I collapsed from exhaustion earlier, Michael is placing guards around me for more 'protection' and I can't even handle my own family's protect at times."

Daniel whistled. "Woah, I guess you're just special to them."

I groaned. "Daniel, you're eighteen and you live by yourself without your parents. I'm eighteen and dad says I'll never have to leave the house. I probably won't even get my own house even when I grow up!"
