She had found three in one night, without guidance from Diana, she was surprised there was an infestation in London town. Her wolf side was truly amazing, two of them had been pretending to hurt others for different reasons than she had ever seen them take an interest in before, they had posed themselves as race and gender 'attacks.' Another had been swanning into fights taking the looser to 'hospital' before draining them dry posing their victim like they had bled out at the scene. Even Sarah was learning to spot them, the impassionate hangers-on, hiding at the sidelines, thirsting for things to go badly. Dawn was threatening to rear its head and there was a slight susurration below as she leapt from roof to roof, homing back to Bahman's apartment. If he could find a bike, he must be able to find the phone numbers she needed to get in contact with Diana. She almost didn't catch a building as she noticed that she had been without any technology for the entire night, Tristan had really rubbed off on her, living without the distractions and in the moment she had both time to search out the creatures, save the innocent, and feel the world around her. He would've probably hated the concrete jungle of it all but she didn't mind it that much. The doorbell had gone, it must be his mysterious houseguest. Amazing, she had been out all night, and somehow managed to lose him instantly. She was tricky but he would manage to follow the next night. He opened the door to her, "Thanks." She said almost breathlessly, her hair frizzy and wild where it escaped her long braid, her black eyes shining. She stepped aside slightly before heading down the small carpeted corridor to the gleaming kitchen, "Is there anything to eat?" "Good question." He hadn't thought about providing her food, if he ever needed any food he just popped out to buy the thing he was craving. Having food in? That wasn't his style. "So what do werewolves eat?""How did you know!" Alexa threatened and had a flattened slotted kitchen tool with a metal handle poised to push his nose up into his skull. She had grabbed it from beside the cooker, thanks, roomie. But she was only kinda scary, so this is what it would be like to be threatened by Captain America for swearing... "Please don't, lucky guess. That's how these things work. There's vampires and werewolves they hate each other, the war ext. Your eyes even turned yellow once.""You know about the war?""There's always a war." He said flatly, he wished he hadn't used that word. He didn't want to think about it. "Can you please put that down?""It's a masher." She corrected and took it away, he fell to a crouch gasping for the breath he didn't know he'd avoided. "Yup that, do you use everything as a weapon." he scuttled away, keeping her in sight but as far away as possible. There was that whole civil war war machine being paralysed thing."Not everything, but anything yes. Every fighter needs to think quickly." She put it away but started playing with the other implements. "Do you have military training?""No. Do I look military?" She had sorted all the kitchen tools into size order and then turned to him. Whatever she said she was mostly muscle and although a little shorter than him, looked taller and stronger than any other woman he'd had a conversation with. Not a soldier per se, but more Wonder Woman than Captain America or Captain Marvel. "No..." He agreed with her, as he found his way to the cupboards, Turner must have left something edible. She was highly confrontational, and probably needed therapy but, if she had spent her childhood hunting vampires then she was relatively well adjusted, he just had to help her be a little more human somehow. "I have cereal." He looked in the fridge. "Scratch that no milk. And these canned foods. I'm a little scared that the things in the fridge have been there over a week, I was supposed to use them but who knows what is growing on them by now." "That's all fine I'll make something up.""You can do that?""Watch and learn." She actually smiled at him as she stretched out her fingers and rolled her wrists like a dancer. Then she started and it was an amazing sight, she trimmed chopped and sliced things from the fridge he would have thrown out the instant he opened it up. And she combined them all with a couple of the cans. "It's not fancy but I'm hungry. Whereabouts are your bowls? Would you like some?" "I'm good, they're here." He placed one in front of her and admired her absolute confidence. Serving herself what looked like veggie stew, and inhaling it, she wasn't a messy eater but, she was sure open about loving food. He yawned, far too loudly, then bid her goodnight. He'd either see her the next day or be robbed, it was fine. Cause he'd sleep so good. Bahman woke up, the door was still shut. Was she actually nocturnal too, nice. He set to work for a couple of hours, he'd check whenever she needed a drink or something later. Settling down in the office he had a lot of gear, two separate desktop set-ups, the towers open to the large desk fans at his feet. A master gaming chair, comfy enough to spend all day leisurely at the desk switching between the computers processing the final few elements of his latest app for the suits or a passion project. He worked from home but often had contracts turn up desperately asking him to fix major glitches and server crashes, and wanted to get back to working on something that allowed him to be creative. Building his own world of werewolves vs. vampires didn't sound too bad a next personal project, especially if he had a hot girl to work with, there must be an untapped market and a way in ripe for the taking. He'd have to convince her to tell him about her romantic life too and defend himself when he added a 'handsome brooding vampire' love interest but who knows, if this was all real there might be. If not he'd think back to his sister's obsession with the American versions that had come across Europe. There was a knock on the door, she was awake. "Come in.""Hello, thank you so much for last night, the bed to sleep on. Sorry I was threatening, it's just trusting people doesn't always come naturally." She looked like she was genuinely sorry and smiled weakly. In the daylight, she was very pretty in a Megan Fox meets Beyonce kinda way, but he did not wanna be the guy from Transformers. Like there's a nerd punching above their weight and a nerd who's happy and settled with a good girl. "If it makes you feel any better I hid the rest of the kitchen tools and wedged my door closed when you went to sleep. Can't always trust people." He shrugged back. "You mentioned being able to find my bike?""Yep. I already tracked it down, it's currently in this bike shop." "Can you also find a number to call? It's the." She stopped talking mid-sentence, looking and listening to her left, she may be completely mad yet. "Do you have a phone I can use? I remembered a number that can help me find out the right number to call.""Or what's your number, shall we look up your phone records?""You can do that?""We've all got our talents. Mine are mostly chair-based, take a perch." His hand swooped towards the other older discarded office chair in the corner of the room. She sat and rolled it forward like a half-paralysed crab, that had found out it could use a few legs, and the gulls were coming, basically fast and awkward. "Number +44768223243." She nudged in and he realised she'd taken off her jacket for the first time, and her vest top was incredibly low cut, A 3D scan of the girl would be great for the game. Or full motion cap. The little green dots would get the perfect amount of jiggle. He took about 15 minutes but, "Here you go, recognise any of the numbers?""Unfortunately not. Try that one." She pointed to the screen, touching it as if it could be a touch screen, leaving one greasy print. He clicked call, and the phone answered after a few rings. "Sandulf, who is there?""Oh no put it down! Wrong one!" Her voice wobbled in a way he did not expect, trying to smash at the keyboard. But Bahman was fast enough to disconnect before he needed to order himself a new Razor keyboard. He had his love interest, who was this Sandulf, he sounded like the old world... She didn't know he was a vampire yet classic. "Next please." Her big black eyes looked at him with a newfound trust in his competence. The next one dialled for a few dings, "You have reached the Maelstrom packaging and delivery service. Please call back during opening hours, thank you." The line went silent, he was going to click off, but she placed her hand on his. It was one thing for him not to touch her but he was totally trapped by her soft hand, didn't she have regular boundaries. "Erm could you not that's har...""Diana could you please get a phone to this address, I'm staying with someone I saved for the day. You were right, there's an infestation. They've been masking their actions under the veil of other crimes." She spoke firmly and clearly. Even if it was a wrong number and a random company. But she thankfully drew her hand back, and he took his opportunity to scoot a little away from her. "Next I'm assuming.""Couldn't hurt." She mused from a safe distance. He clicked. There was an immediate answer. "What?" A laddish voice with a slight European twang shouted down the line. "Is your sister in London?" Alexa took the rudeness in her stride."So you aren't dead then? How would I know where she was?""Do you know anything useful? Is my cousin about? I... lost everything.""Huh?""I'll explain if... never mind.""O-kay, by the way, Sarah isn't here anymore, it really is you.""Good to know. Bye.""Yeah yeah, don't get yourself killed.""You can end the call now." He ended it, keying in the shortcut to also end the audio recording he had set up. She suspected nothing. "As that room is free for a month, could I perhaps rent it?" That was a jump, could he handle an entire month with this volatile girl? "Think about it, I've got to get back to the hunt." She sang with an artificial sweetness and was away again. He jumped off his chair and ran to follow her. She wasn't at ground floor level again, how did she do that? Did she have a little extra than her werewolf powers? He hadn't even asked about any of that yet! Alexa ran across the rooftops as Sarah's spectre flew beyond her. She was becoming more solid-looking, it was so strange to see her float through objects that were in her path. She hadn't been careful alive, but this was the most confusing thing to see ever. Alexa was still considering that she had never left her room and was dreaming everything, the vampires she was encountering were easy to take down too. She would scent them, wait above them or around the corner until they separated their prey, exposing themselves, and making them vulnerable for a simple shot to the chest. It was far too easy, how had they been let to live and destroy lives for so long. Was the city so overly populated that crime and bled-out bodies went ignored? The ghost of innocence twirled around, her dress picking up only her motion, even her soft brown hair was untouched by the elements. Alexa stopped herself from dwelling on her hair she was only focusing on it because she didn't have an adequate comb. Sarah was wearing her puzzled yet determined look. "That was ten tonight. I think I take everything good I've ever said about vampires back. They never covered this sort of thing in TVD! Sorry Alex: The Vampire Diaries.""Are you going to lecture me too about all the 'vampire' stuff? Getting it from Bahman is enough.""Oh about him, I've seen the way he looks at you." "What do you mean? Out with it.""Haha, haven't you noticed, I think he's very happy watching your chest. And he got sooo embarrassed when you put your hand over his." "Ugh, boys! ...I'm sorry Sarah.""I don't mind they were fun but...?""What the matter please tell me?""I don't know. Don't feel like that though, I didn't know what I wanted really before. Have you asked yourself that question?""What do I want? Simple to save as many lives as possible.""That's your job!" "It can be both, besides, I'm not paid for doing this remember.""Not the point. I think you should go on a wolfy adventure. Travel the world sniff the bums of all the hot weres.""That's what you want to do.""If I was as hot as you I would.""Haha, okay that got me. I'm not hot.""You are too! You're slim, with so much muscle you've got the boobs, the bum, the lips, the eyes. You're very kind and helpful and always put others first.""Sarah...?" Alexa closed herself down, clenching her hand and her bicep. They watched on in silence for a little while as her brown skin rippled with thick muscles underneath. Sarah's smile saddened. "It's alright my love. I can just see you're pretty hot too." "I'm so sorry I didn't realise, that you thought that way, I'm sorry." "Hahahaha, you're the worst. Once you found Tristan I really reckoned I wasn't your type. Did you ever think I was pretty?""Well... you know me I don't think about that sort of thing much. Sorry again." "Alex it's alright, even if I was butch, I am never getting that stubble or thigh definition." "How closely have you been looking at him?""Enough to know what I'm missing out.""So, how can we make you not miss out?""Let's sneak into a celebrity bar! One's bound to be a vampire!""No.""Yes.""No.""I'm dead, you owe me!""Gah fine. Which club?""Ministry of Sound!"
