Once they were done eating, Eva and Levi walked around Trost seaching for a shop that would sell women clothing, since the Captain of the Scouts was simply not going to let the subject go.

Eva was not comfortable at all, but Levi had insisted on the urgency of the matter and eventually ordered her to go shopping, so she couldn't really refuse the stubborn Lance Corporal.

Due to the recent battle, the streets were very busy — everybody was trying their best to rebuild the city and to make a living amidst the rubble and destruction the Titans had left behind.

"That's Jean's mom's bakery" Eva pointed to one of the shops. "Do you want to buy anything for her?"

"Who, again?"

"Jean Kirstein" Eva explained, "he is a cadet in my class. Graduated 7th. He is actually very very good with 3DMG."

"Better than you?" Levi questioned in a playful tone, much to her surprise.

"No..." she shyly answered. "I'd have you know I was first of my class."

"I wouldn't doubt it for a second, Eva."

"Do you want anything from the bakery?"

"Do you?"

"Don't be evasive!" she replied in frustration.

"We just ate, but apparently you want something."

"I want to buy whatever from her..." she confessed, making Levi frown subtly. "Before the army... I stole a lot from her."

He raised his eyebrows, clearly not expecting that from the girl.

"We didn't have enough with the rations they gave us for working in the fields so..." Eva continued explaining. "And Eren, Mikasa and Armin are not exactly... quick with their hands, so I did all the stealing."

"And you are trying to pay her back?"

"Yeah, something like that... You think is stupid?"

"No, Eva" he placed a hand in her shoulder. "I think is very nice of you."

"I'll get us croissants, just wait here" she announced, darting in before he could say a word.

Fast forward ten minutes, Eva came back out, carrying two bags with her — the biggest of which she offered to Levi.

"These are a lot of croissants" he pointed out.

"Of course! You have to share it with your Squad!" she beamed. "Make sure Eren get's one, please."

"Will do" he assured her. "Now clothes."

"We don't have to..." she tried again to evade the subject, to no avail.

"Oh, but we do, brat. I thought I've made my self clear" he added, pointing out at a small shop that seemed to be adequate.

Eva reluctantly got in and started looking for a simple white shirt, similar to the one she was wearing, and then she went on to look for pants.

"Why don't you get a skirt?" Levi suggested.

"I-I told you... I am not very... girly" she shrugged, feeling very uncomfortable with his suggestion

"Just try one on, brat."

Eva sighed in surrender. Maybe if she tried it on and he saw how terrible it looked on her, he would shut up about it, so she decided on a long pink skirt. Eva actually loved the color, but the fact that it was a skirt... She was still not convinced.
