The Garrison soldiers did, in fact, not wait for her.

Eva didn't blame them — the dungeon where Eren was staying was basically a sty. It took her about three hours to make it suitable for human living.

She was starting to get tired from cleaning and now a couple of hours of walking were the cherry on top of the cake.

Eva said her goodbyes to her brother and his squad, but Captain Levi was nowhere to be found. She would have wanted to at least say her goodbyes but it was not to be.

His words had left her in shock. Could he really be interested in... her?

As she walked past the stables, a hand grabbed her arm.

"OH MY —!!!"

"Shut up, brat."

"You scared the shit out of me!" panted Eva, trying to regain her breath.

He snickered. "Told you they weren't going to wait for you."

"Yeah... you did indeed, Captain" she shrugged.

"Get on the horse" he signaled to the black stallion besides them, already saddled.

"Huh?

"Get on the horse, Eva, I'll take you back."

"Are you sure? It's far."

"What I am entirely sure of is that I won't be letting you walk on your own this late. So get - on - the - fucking - horse."

She did as instructed and they galloped silently back to the city. Levi's hands were wrapped strongly around her waist, and the movement of the horse made her back rub against his chest. Yet she felt extremely comfortable, she tried to focus her attention on something — anything, really — but the proximity with the Captain seemed to have rendered her mind blank.

As they entered Trost, the horse slowed down and Eva woke up from her daydreaming.

"Thank you, I can walk from here" she spoke as she began to stand, but his strong arm brought her down.

"Just where do you think you are going, brat?"

"We are in the city already" she informed him, rather awkwardly.

"Yeah, I noticed."

"Sooooo...?" She scratched the back of her neck.

"So."

"I can walk, Levi."

"Have dinner with me, Eva" he whispered in her ear, his hand still holding her waist close to him.

"What!?" she gasped.

"Dinner."

"I heard you."

"Then what's your question?"

"You mean like... In a restaurant or something?"

"Yes..."

"But... Like... People... Eren... You are like, famous. And I'm Eren's sister."

"So you don't want to be seeing with me, brat?

"No! Quite the contratry... But you wouldn't want to be seen with... Well, me."

"I've already told you, don't tell me what I want and don't want" the grip of his hand around her waist tightened even more, as he leaned closer to her. "What I want is to have dinner with you. The question is very simple. Do you want to have dinner with me, Eva?"
