"Mi?" Eva shook the shoulders of her sister carefully, so as not to startle her too much when waking her up.

Eva had tried to simply go to sleep after leaving Sasha Braus at her bunk, but the events of the night were still too vivid in her mind. Even if she had tried, she would not have been able to fall asleep, so she did the only thing she could think of.

"Huh?"

The black-haired girl woke up almost immediately and without much of a fuss, simply looking at Eva and blinking repeatedly.

"Can we talk outside?" whispered the blonde.

"Sure" her sister replied, still a bit surprised, but she was quick to stand up and head out of the crowded room following Eva's step.

Once they were out of the barracks, Mikasa was able to take a better look at Eva, and her new clothes did not go unnoticed.

"Evie! Did you go shopping?" She enquired, making Eva feel self conscious immediately due to the sudden attention. "You should have told me and Sasha — we could have gone together."

Eva took a moment to reply. How was she supposed to break the news to her sister?

"Actually..." The blonde blushed. "I have a lot of things to tell —"

"How is Eren doing?" questioned Mikasa.

Oh. Of course, that's what Mikasa would want to hear about first.

"Well, he was living amidst filth" Eva confessed, remembering the images of his 'room' and its state, "but now he lives like a normal, decent and clean person."

"Is that runt treating him well?"

Eva swallowed hard, trying to dissolve the lump that had suddenly formed in her throat.

Maybe Mikasa was not the right person to talk to. She despised Levi after the events of the trial... And Eva couldn't really blame her.

"Well?" Mikasa insisted.

Eva looked down, avoiding her sister's eyes. Maybe that way words would come at her easier. "Yeah, he... they are fine. I think Eren likes it there. Levi Squad seemed nice enough."

"I'm glad." Mikasa whispered, nodding her head slightly. She took a moment longer to continue. "I like your new clothes, by the way. And it was about time you got yourself a bra" the black haired girl chuckled slightly. "You never take care of yourself, Evie. It's good that you finally did. What happened?"

Eva took a deep breath in before answering in an almost inaudible voice. "Levi."

"What?"

"It was Levi. He... he bought it for me" she confessed still in a very low voice, the lump in her throat almost not allowing her to breathe.

Mikasa noticed immediately. "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I just..." Eva doubted. "I shouldn't have let him do it."

"Evie, it's fine, I am sure he is okay with it... he is not precisely kind, so I—"

"But he is" she cut her sister. "With me, he is very nice and kind."

"Yeah, because he likes you." Mikasa reasoned.

"Why?" Eva looked at her sister with incredulous eyes.

"Why?"

"Yes, why — why does he like me? I don't get why he likes me, Mi."

"Evie... you are amazing." Mikasa hugged her sister and spoke in her ear. "He would be stupid if we didn't like you."
