It Was His (SELF-PUBLISHED)

Prologue

I stood in front of my boyfriend- oh scratch that, it should be - CHEATER BOYFRIEND.

"Nathalie, please believe me! It was just a fvcking set-up!" I slap away his hand when he tried to hold me. Nandidiri ako sa kanya dahil sa mga nasaksihan ko kanina.

My bestfriend and my boyfriend were naked under the sheet of a bed. It's still vivid in my mind and no matter how I strongly pinch myself to wake up from this nightmare, I just couldn't.

"Eh anong ginawa niyo?! Nagbahay-bahay sa kama ha?!" He look at me with an awe like he can't believe that I said that. Punong-puno na ako sa lahat.

I trust him but this time, hindi ko na alam kung tama pa bang paniwalaan siya. These past few days ay hindi kami gaanong maayos dahil may mga hindi kami pagkaka-intindihan. We both know that my best friend, Missy has hidden admiration for him. Lagi siya nitong ginugulo ng kaibigan ko kaya sobrang naiinis ako.

Bakit kase may mga gano'n? Alam na nga nilang taken ang isang tao pero pinagpipilitan pa rin nila ang mga sarili nila. I pity my friend so much. Naubusan na ata ng lalake sa mundo kaya pati boyfriend ko ay inaangkinin pa. At ngayon, hindi ko na alam kung saan nagpunta ang babaeng 'yon dahil pagkapasok ko palang kanina ay mabilis itong dumaan sa malaking bintana. Nagpakamatay na ata ang ahas...

"Just hear me out, baby..."

"Don't. Call. Me. Baby."

"We're both drunk okay? Hindi ko alam ang mga nangyari pero nasisiguro kong hindi ko magagawang lokohin ka. I didn't touch your best friend!"

I arched my brows and look at him intently in the eyes.

"You can't fool me, Apollo. " I smiled faintly as I show him a video which Adam, his brother sent to me.

Magkasalubong ang kilay nitong nakatitig sa screen at kitang-kita ko sa mga mata niya ang galit. He clenched his hand while the other one grabbed my phone and throw it to the wall. Hindi ako makapaniwala sa ginawa niyang 'yon.

"I didn't do that," walang emosyon niyang sabi. Kung kanina ay nakakakaya ko pang sabayan ang mga titig niya, ngayon ay hindi na. Nanlalambot na rin ang mga tuhod ko at gustong-gusto ko nang umalis dito sa kwartong puntong-puno ng nakakadiring pangyayari.

"Stop explaining."

"Just this once, baby. I'm begging you to please believe me. Stay with me and don't you dare to leave."

I felt a million knife that stabbed my heart when a tear fell from his eyes where I used to stare  every time I feel so down. But now? I feel like I'm drowning slowly by slowly by his lies.

This will be the last time that I will let myself be fooled by someone.

"I can't. But I'm giving you my one last gift."

I slowly walk towards him without breaking our stare.

"Fvck."

Malakas na sampal ang binigay ko kasabay nang sunod na sunod na pagtulo ng mga luhang kanina ko pa pinipigilan.

"Thank you, Apollo..."

And with that, I turned my back on him like I just did the best decision of my life.

Thank you for giving me a remembrance from all of your lies.

Nang makalabas ako sa kwartong 'yon ay pait akong napangiti nang hawakan ko ang tiyan ko.
