Chapter 29. Never Enough

Tharn POV;

We reach the packhouse but I instructed some warriors to stay in moonstone territory to clean up the area. My mate has been quiet although he shows extreme emotion of concern, he avoided all my approaches to talk to him.

Like now I've knocked on his door but some of the servants told me that he has gone out of the woods and left a message that he will be back at night, and I don't fucking know what he is up to. Patiently waiting for the night to come, I busy myself with some paper works and sentinels reports.

The punishment for beta Lee and his mate is still in discussion, being a beta of the pack is a high-rank position, and we have to find a candidate to replace him before we kill him.

It's been a week with the same shit, I am on a verge of losing my sanity but I refrain myself, reminding myself that this is my punishment for all my behavior towards my mate.

A knock on my door interrupts me from what I'm doing. It's Areyah and Lucas. Yes, they introduce Lucas to me as his mate, which I am surprised because it's new to us that guardians can have a mate also.

"What is it Areyah? " I asked the woman to talk, she's been quiet also since they arrived.

"Alpha we have some visitors arrived, we'd like you to meet them! " Areyah said asking permission to accept the visitors.

I stand up from my chair and close my computer on my desk, and sign them to wait for me outside. After I tidy up everything I left my office and proceed to go out.

I step out of the house and saw some unfamiliar faces waiting for me, they bow their heads for respect but their eyes roamed around searching for someone. I observed them and was about to ask them but the old man with green eyes speak first.

"Greetings Alpha Tharn, my name is Jules and I am one of the elders of the Silver Lining Pack. And these are the pack warriors, we would like to discuss something.! " Elder Jules said.

I nod at him and give him respect just like what we are giving to all our elders inside our pack.

I'm about to talk again when a certain smell hits my nostril, it's my mate and he is talking with someone, no! Laughing with someone. I feel my heart clench and a jealous feeling starts to stir up inside me.

He looks at me with a stoic expression, he suddenly change after he saw my face, I feel like crying so I bite my lips hard.

"Greetings Alpha, my name is Kao I am the Alpha of Silver Lining pack. " he reaches out his hand out for me for a shake.

"Am I the one you are wanted to talk to or my mate? " I maybe sound disrespectful right now but I'm doing all my best to stop myself from getting jealous. My nerve is shaking, the feeling of being unfairly treated by my mate is too much for me to handle, Wolfrik is on verge of taking over.

I know the story behind the Silver Lining, Areyah told me already, but the fact that this Alpha Kao has secret feelings for my mate makes my blood boil, and the fact that Type is laughing with him instead of being with me makes my heart torn to pieces. And the fact that I can't connect to his mindlink is making me crazy.

"We are here for you Alpha, you are the leader of the pack, of course, we came for you! " Kao said. I avoid looking at my mate that has been staring at me intently.

I took a deep breath and calm myself. Still avoiding eye contact with my mate.

"Follow me then, Sammy, tell the servant to prepare a place for the visitors,! " Sammy bow at me and leave for her task.
