Chapter 7 (Percy's Suit and a Surprise)

"A spider?" Percy quirked up an eyebrow and took a quick look at Annabeth again. He hoped the spider wasn't Arachne.

Speaking of Annabeth, her suit was awesome with the cape and how it matched her eye color as she leaned against the window. She looked gorgeous- just like she always does. She also looked like she could kick some serious butt- like she always does- but with a hint of mystery that said she knew something that Percy didn't- which she probably did.

"A guy with the powers of a spider, that is." Bruce filled him in.

"Yikes. I'm gonna go suit up. Don't want to get caught in a web." Percy half-joked as he reached for the suit and headed to the bathroom.

The suit was killer. It was blue of course, but it also looked like something Leo would invent. Leo. The late Supreme Commander of the Argo II. Percy would never forget their conversation in Nike's arena. Leo said he was hero-y. It wasn't the first time he'd been called a hero- he'd been called one dozens of times- but it was the first time someone had actually said they wanted to hate him, but couldn't.

Well, maybe that wasn't entirely true. After all, Annabeth had tried to hate him when he first arrived at camp.

He realized he was getting distracted and continued on with attaching the suit. The left boot didn't fit too well though. It felt like there was packaging in the toe. So, like any other normal person, he took off the boot and shook out whatever was in it.

A wadded up piece of paper fell out of the dark cobalt footwear. It was a letter from his dad. It smelled like a dolphin for some reason. That was odd. He opened it anyway.

It pretty much told him to tell Fury and the others about the gods, to not tell them about camp, and that the suit was waterproof and would let him swim 'faster than a Marlin'. Oh, yeah, it told him not to freak out if Nico uses his powers, too. That piqued his curiosity. Why shouldn't he freak out?

It was a good thing that he read the note because when he put his boot back on and went to the kitchen, Nico was faintly smirking and he had a small gleam in his eyes that Percy had only ever seen on the Stolls.

His mind screamed Uh oh and for some reason a tiny part of him wanted to go hide under some lettuce. Weird. Guinea pig strikes again.

"You ready to go, kid?" Steve asked.

"I hope he's ready, because Spidey is climbing the Statue of Liberty as we speak." Clint said.

Percy could have sworn Annabeth was going to kill Spider-Man. That was a statue modeled after her mom. He would've wanted to kill Spiderguy, too.

"Then let's go." Annabeth fell back -out of the window.

"Annabeth!!!!" Percy screamed and raced towards the window.

Clint and Steve pulled him back. Tony jumped out of the window. Percy fell to his knees. He stared out of the window, waiting for the sickening splat that would signify the end of his Wise Girl.

Instead he heard her elated shout. "Wahoooooo! This is amazing!" And a figure in steely gray armor with metallic wings of the same shade dashed vertically through the view of the window.

"Annabeth?" Percy was shocked. What he thought was a cape was now metal wings. His girlfriend was flying.

You might want to check the Avenger Names again. I added a few more names that you might like.

So far, this is my favorite chapter.

As for the Avenger Names, I'm probably going to go with the Steel (Or titanium) Owl for Annabeth's name. It's just the most likely candidate since she has steel armor, uses wings to fly, and can summon owls to her aid. Yes, she uses a knife and throwing knives, but try saying Knife Mistress five times fast ( It's fine otherwise) but I'm deadset on finding something within her mother's sphere of power.

Percy's name is either going to be Rogue Wave, The Cyclone or Hurricane.

As for Nico's name, Deathblade, The Dark Defender, Shadow Lord, and pretty much all of the other names would work well and I can't decide.

I'm not going to use any of the names from the books because of a simple scenario. If Percy, Annabeth, and Nico are in public and Percy (Let's be honest, it would be Percy who slips up) calls Annabeth Wise Girl, or Nico Death Breath - Bang- instant reveal and paparazzi swarm. But I might go with Ghost King for Nico since it's not really something everyone calls him.
