Annabeth
*While Percy was changing in the other room*When Annabeth tried on the suit, she couldn't have thought it could get any better.
Then, she found the note. It was hidden in an instruction manual she found in her boot. When she flipped through the pages, it fell out of page 394. The manual was 500 pages long.
The note was from her mom- which surprised her. She hadn't talked to her mom since she was given the cursed coin. But, nonetheless, she read it.
Dear Annabeth,
It may surprise you to hear from me, but this is of the upmost importance. Your armor has a few abilities that you must learn how to use.
The first is the ability of flight. You may have noticed the cape on your suit that the others do not have. It is a pair of cleverly disguised wings. There are sensors on your palms that allow you to activate them for flight when you clench your fists. Do not worry about flapping them. They automatically adjust to air currents, your thoughts, and your movements to provide the course of flight you wish.
The second is a hidden pocket on the hip of your armor. You will need to store this letter and a few drachmas inside.
The third is a special ability from me for retrieving my statue- the ability to summon owls to your aid.
The fourth is silver throwing knives. There are twelve in all.
On another note, you may tell the Avengers about us, but not the camps. Do not tell them about the camps under any circumstances. This paragraph of the letter will disappear after you finish reading it.
Also, your friend Nico's suit allows him to use his powers without wearing himself out and your suits have communication devices in them.
See you on Olympus,
Your Mother,
Athena, Goddess of WisdomAnnabeth was speechless. She could fly. She could summon owls. She had powers related to her mother's sphere of control.
She rolled up her letter and put it in her pocket. Then she thought of something. This would be the safest place in New York to try out her new flight powers, wouldn't it? After all, there were two superheroes with the ability to fly right beside her. She looked at the ash colored cape on her shoulders and made up her mind.
She was going to fly.
She stepped away from the window and made sure no one was around her before she clenched her hands into fists. Steel colored wings furled out of what was once the cape.
"Whoa," The wings were beautiful. They looked like the ones Dadaelus had made but much stronger and more intricate and detailed. They were the color of titanium and they were obviously just as strong. "They're gorgeous."
The Avengers turned around at the sound.
"How?" Steve was shocked.
"Whoa- that's new." Clint raised his eyebrows.
"You have metal wings, young Midgardian?" Thor asked.
"WHAT THE-" Tony yelled before his mouth was covered by Bruce (Tony didn't have his face mask on yet).
Bruce whistled a low whistle that said "Impressive."
Nico was wide-eyed.
"Annabeth? Since when do you have wings?" Natasha asked.
"Since now. I found an instruction manual for my suit in my boot and I wanted to try them out." Annabeth said.
Bruce removed his hand from Tony's mouth and out came the machine gun of questions.
