Alaiya's POV:

"I am not going to stay at a hotel with you." I shake my head and lift my back off the seat.

"Fine, then you take my fucking keys and hold our place in that long line." He pulls up to the parking lot and points back with his thumb while holding his keys out for me.

I actually think about it and turn my head around to see the line. More cars have now joined and people are literally stacked on one another, waiting to finally be able to leave.

See, this is a very hard decision. One, I don't want to even be in the same building with Roman. Two, I hate Roman. Three, Roman's annoying. Four...you get the idea. But I also don't feel like standing in this line all night long and maybe dying by the way these reckless cars are driving. So it's basically between death, and spending time with Roman. They're both pretty close to each other as far as punishments go, but Roman's car also seems like a manual and I don't know how to drive one of those.

Guess I have no option.

I wish I would've brought my headphones or earplugs.

"Fine," I mumble in defeat before opening my door.

He holds his keys now with all his fingers rather than just his thumb and snatches them back in a "That's what I thought" kind of way.

Roman steps out of the car after me, and as I'm walking in the pouring rain, a jacket gets thrown at my face as he strides in front of me like he didn't just do that.

Jerk!

I put it on top of my head because I don't feel like looking like a wet dog no matter how Roman rudely handed it over to me. He's already made it under the roof and I reach pretty quickly too. We both walk in and a pretty nicely decorated hotel with white furniture comes into sight.

All of a sudden, a voice catches our attention. Well, Roman's.

"Roman." A lady who looks kind of familiar walks up to Roman and hugs him.

She has very light skin, looks to be around her thirties, her outfit which consists of jeans and a regular gray top fits her flawlessly, and her smile is so infectious, it for some reason reminds me of someone else but I can't put my finger on it.

He hugs her back while I take his jacket off my head and look down to see my entire outfit which is drenched in rainwater.

"Who's this?" she pulls away and asks about me before Roman looks at me.

"Alison, was it?" he messes up my name on purpose, and he's lucky this lady is here or I would've punched him.

No, I wouldn't have, but I would've said some things to his annoyingly-smug face.

"Alaiya," I ignore his snarky comment and force a smile over at her.

"Nice to meet you." She shakes my hand and I shake it back. "You guys get stuck in that storm?" she asks and Roman nods. "I'll get both of you a room key so you can get cleaned up."

The woman walks over to her desk and grabs two cards after scanning them into her computer.

"Tons of people before you just got here so we only have one room left." She hands Roman a keycard, and I'm internally whining and crying like a baby at that piece of information.
