♡ Alaiya's POV: ♡
Sofia continues to make her point about how Carson should face charges for everything he did. The judge listens to it all while Carson's lawyer just continues to whisper things audibly to Carson, as well as write some things down.
Sofia finishes her point and the judge lets her sit back down.
"Mr.Simon." Judge Ali gets the attention of Carson's lawyer. "I believe you would like to ask Ms.Storm some questions and Mrs.Alvarez, you as well?" she asks.
Both lawyers nod a yes respectfully.
"We'll take a recess and return." She hits the hammer and dismisses us.
Sofia makes me follow her to outside the room, and everyone follows behind us. Sofia tells me about how I'm doing great and if we keep showing all the evidence and truth, then everything should be good. I try and keep my attention on her and off the one person I want to desperately look at and never look away from.
Stop looking Alaiya!
He's standing with my grandparents and they're speaking to him, but I can't pinpoint what they're saying. They know that Sofia is telling me about the case and they don't want to interrupt me, though I'm sure my grandma has some choice words to say about Carson and his mom.
His eyes divert a tad and meet my staring ones, making mine now not be able to move away. My grandparents continue to talk to one another as his eyes do a quick scan of my body again and return right back at my face. My body's uneasiness that can only be created by the power of his eyes return after what feels like years and instantly I'm heated up everywhere. He looks back at my grandparents as they ask him a question, and when I turn back, I realize that Sofia was asking me a question as well.
"Mhmm?" I ask her to repeat what she said.
"I asked if you were doing okay?" she repeats.
"Oh, I'm fine." I force myself to smile at her and she nods understandably as a reply.
I feel a pair of eyes on me, though it's not Roman this time. I follow the feeling and see my mom staring at me with anger. Sofia did talk about my dad and her which probably got her angrier at me, meaning she probably hates me even more if that's even possible.
Yay.
15 Minutes Later:
"Did Carson sexually abuse you?" Sofia stands in front of me while I'm sitting in the chair next to the judge, but lower.
"Yes," I simply answer
"Would you mind giving us an example?" she questions.
Breathe.
"The first time Carson and I ever had sex...," the word feels uncomfortable to say again. "it was the first time Carson had ever drunk. He barged into my room and when he tried to get me to take my clothes off..." I look at my nails and squeeze them into my skin to keep myself from getting emotional. "he punched a hole in the wall and then forced me to do it even though I said no multiple times."
"Do we have evidence of this?" the judge asks Sofia and me.
I'm about to say no because we never really went into depth about finding evidence since the original plan was never to go into this much detail, but Sofia speaks up before I can.
"Yes we do." She hands the picture over to the judge and the judge takes it, leaving me confused.
I didn't know she had evidence? When Sofia says she wants to work harder on a case, I guess she really means it.
