✩ Roman's POV ✩
The crowd is fucking huge this time because it is the finals, and the camera equipment is everywhere, along with the reporters. The other team isn't like the last team we played against. They were more sophisticated and had more pressure on their shoulders, while this team looks more calm and relaxed.
We're playing against Tennessee, and if we don't win this, Coach Miller already has a murder plan for each one of us.
"LET ME TELL YOU THIS SIMPLY," he yells. "You win, I don't give a crap what you do later," he brushes off. "You lose, and I swear I will release ALL OF HELL ON ALL YOUR ASSES."
Like I said.
We all respond with a yes coach and take his threat very seriously. Everyone but one person.
"I'm going to miss you so much." Rider begins to cry as he walks over and hugs Coach Miller from the side while Coach Miller tries to push him away but Rider gets a hold of him first. "All your yelling." He sniffs. "The way you nurture us," he says, and the whole team just looks at him blankly.
What the fuck is wrong with him?
"Get your ass off of me," Coach Miller finally pushes him away as Rider laughs in humor.
"And that my friends, is what I call acting," Rider struts over to us in victory as we all just keep staring at the entire scene he just made.
"Blackwood." Coach points towards me and Rider. "Make sure he never comes back."
I nod as a promise that I won't let that happen, though I have no idea how I'm going to deal with this motherfucker when we leave by myself.
"TYLER," Coach calls Walker's replacement.
He's a much better defense than Walker was anyway, and he's also not a class A dick. He's still annoying as hell, but everyone is to me so I can't really talk on that matter.
"Ruin this game and I'll end your career before it even starts," Coach blackmails, and Tyler nods a little afraid. "NOW GET YOUR ASSES OUT THERE AND DON'T LOSE!" He points out to the field before we all dismantle our huddle on the sideline to get to our positions.
Rider, of fucking course, is making sure his shoes don't touch the mud, and also while doing so, he's tripping over those same shoes like a fucking idiot. Everyone else is a little normal, so they just run normally.
The other team is already on the field and is getting ready into their positions as well. Our team gets into ours after the other team shakes our hands, and the crowd begins to quiet down when the announcer kicks in. He talks about the teams and makes some fucking horrible jokes before starting.
They couldn't have hired someone who had a sense of humor?
A couple of really bad jokes later, the ref walks on and we all now realize that this is some of our last game and we have to win this.
It's nighttime, but the headlights are pretty bright inside the field so it doesn't feel like it. Everything is basically lit up in the stadium and we can see everything, including the patronizing crowd with different banners of which team they're rooting for.
