Authors Note: Hi, first off, thank you so much for choosing to read my book and I really hope you like it!!!***This is the rewritten version so if you read the previous one, it may be a little different with some new things.
There are sensitive topics that are discussed which are listed down below, so please read before continuing. I want everyone who reads this to feel comfortable and in no way do I want to trigger someone. Other things are listed down below as well.
1.) ***Warnings: This book talks and goes into details about abusive relationships, toxic and abusive households, panic attacks, rape, sexual assault, and eating disorders. I am in no way glorifying nor romanticizing these things. I believe that these things need to be brought more awareness upon in all forms that they can occur, and that's my only reason for including them in my book.
2.)***Other warnings: Strong language and detailed sexual scenes are written. *Ahem* smut, so this is for mature audiences only.
3.) All pictures including cover, aesthetics, and outfits are all from Pinterest or the internet and do not belong to me.
4.) The main character is a woman of color
with her dad being white and her mom being black.5.) This is all fiction. My story is from my imagination and also wasn't taken from anyone else so please don't steal any of the ideas that I worked hard on.
6.) I'm horrible at sports so writing about football required a bit of research. I apologize if it isn't the best.
7.) There are dance scenes and I know many people find those cringe so I'm sorry.
8.) I love reading the comments, good or bad because it helps me become a better writer so don't be afraid to leave them. It also helps me see that people are actually reading my story and interacting with it. Though, let's leave the hurtful ones to the side please. Also, if you curse, wattpad automatically reports it so if you were saying something to me, I won't be able to reply to it. I promise I'm not trying to be rude if I don't reply, sometimes I just can't.
9.) I still edit from time to time and plus I'm a beginner so I apologize for the grammar and just errors in general. I hate reading errors when I read other books, so I tried to get rid of as many as I could spot, but like I said, I'm a beginner so I'm learning.
10.) I've noticed that in many of the books of I've read, the guy is always the one to walk out on the girl multiple times and usually people forgive or don't give him much hate, though in the few books where it's the girl who is afraid of relationships and walks out, there are entirely double standards. In this book, the girl is the one who is more afraid of relationships and the guy is more ready for one but that's because of everything she's been through.
11.) In the story, the girl has been manipulated her whole life. Being in toxic and abusive relationships has become normal to her. It's not easy to get out of that mindset and I wanted to show the extreme level that it can go to in the best way I could. ***Remember, it takes time to process so she doesn't just one day wake up and decide to end the manipulation, so please give her time.
12.) I don't really mind if you say something bad about a character because we all have opinions and I would be lying if I didn't find characters in other books annoying as well. But remember, these characters are made up and my sensitive ass is real, so let's stick to the characters and only the characters please.
Thank you for reading all of these and I hope you enjoy Worse for Better.
