"No ..." A young pale skinny man with brown hair and sunken eyes whispered under his breath as stared at the morning issue of the Daily Prophet in a daze. The picture of Harry Potter in Diagon Alley with a half giant getting things for school to be exact.

The old woman seated across the table from him smiled, "Doesn't he look great! A true savior! To think he's proved himself to be so powerful and he'll soon be starting at Hogwarts! He'll be so strong and what lovely green eyes! Just what I'd expect from-"

"No." The young man with circles around his eyes said a bit louder than before, "He looks so weak-"

"Oli! That happens to be the wizard who saved you, your parents and all of Magical Britain. A hell of a lot more than anyone his age ever did. Mind your manners! Besides, you aren't much better. You look like you need much more sleep and more food. What the bloody hell are you lately? It'smot taking care of yourself." The old woman scolded.

Oli ignored that comment and slammed the paper down on the table as he stood up, "Of course we were fine! We were here after all! That twig of a savior didn't save my family or did you forget whose idea it was to stay here during the war? Mine! I saved you!"

"You were a child who wanted to be with his grandma and that's all. It just happened to be that it was a good idea because my area of muggle world wasn't affected by the war. Also your parents still died. You didn't do anything then and you were not only there, but 5 years older than The Buy Who Lived! You didn't save anyone and you most certainly didn't stop the Dark Lord ... You were just a child. It wasn't your job to do anything. Just be grateful someone else did and for heaven's sake, stop this nonsense." The grandma huffed as if she's heard similar comments before.

Anger in his chest began to build, "He was in the way! I was older than him! I'm stronger than him ... I could've done better than him! So much better that they'd be-"

"Be alive? No. You aren't even on the same level." She said and sighed. "Harry Potter looks excited about going to school. You can't even keep your focus on your studies. I can't even remember the last time I saw you doing your summer homework. I doubt Durmstrang stopped giving it. Are you failing even more than usual?" A deadly silence settled over them, but the old woman ignored it, not regretting her words.

"I'm better." He muttered.

The old woman scoffed, "Prove it." It was just two little words, but they were enough.

A grin spread across Oli's face and he pointed a wand straight at the back of her head. "Ok."

Harry risked letting a smile come to his lips as he glanced at the pantry. In the little room under the stairs was everything he needed for school, save for the beautiful owl. Soon he will be gone. Not just away from his cruel relatives, but going to a magical school! His life was changing for the better.

"Boy! Bring out the ice cream!" A man's voice yelled from the living room.

"Yes, Uncle!" Harry said quickly before rushing to get the frozen dessert. He made sure to bring three bowls and spoons too. He went to the living room and put the bowls and spoons down for his Uncle Vernon and cousin Dudley. The woman, his Aunt Petunia, never really ate ice cream, but he couldn't risk not bringing a bowl for her as well.

"What should we do this weekend?" Petunia asked cheerily as Harry scooped out the ice cream.

"The zoo!" Dudley yelled before gobbling down his ice cream.

The treats distracted Vernon and Dudley, but Petunia and Harry saw the slight flicker in the lights. Harry was puzzled by it especially since it was a clear calm day, but then he realized he was in trouble. After all, it was an odd flicker and anything odd or freakish was his fault. Sure enough, as he peeked over his shoulder at his Aunt he saw her glaring at him.
