On the way to exit the building, she heard footsteps running towards her. Cole catches up to her, stopping her in her tracks.

"Hey, i- i just wanted to say thank you for earlier. You practically saved my pride."

She chuckled and said, "It's no problem."

Before she could take another step, he immediately asks, "what's your name?"

The girl looks at him for a second, not answering the question.

He scratched the back of his head as he begins to feel the embarrassment enter the room. "Maybe I could take you to dinner? Offer you my thanks and what not."

She looks down, smiling. "No, thank you. I don't really have time for anything right now."

Cole teases, "not even a friend?"

The girl chuckled and patted his arm as she walked away. "Not even that."

She finally exited the building she unconsciously goes to every week and made her way to her favorite diner. The girl sits at a corner booth by herself, eating a plate of fries and a milkshake. She was immersed in what she was consuming when a voice interrupted her serene state.

"We meet again." The voice says in an arrogant, playful manner.

She looks up, confirming her thoughts: the guy from earlier. "You're not stalking me, are you?" She asks, staring directly into his green eyes, as his mouth forms into another smirk.

"I've got no reason to, love."

She rolled her eyes and continued to eat, trying her best to ignore the tall, agonizing man in front of her.

"Do you mind if I sit?" He inquired as he pointed to the seat opposite the red haired girl that inevitably piqued his interest.

She looked him in the eye again and finished chewing her food before she spoke. Manners. "Even if I did, you'd still sit." He laughed inwardly as he did, in fact, take the seat.

"Psychic", he said.

"Predictable."

"Friendly."

"Arrogant."

He faked a gasp, a hand on his heart. "Confident."

"What could you possibly be confident about?"

He sat back, watching her with a new-found delight. "You don't seem to like me very much, do you?"

She raised both eyebrows as she mimicked his posture. "I wonder what gave it away?" She said with a voice laced in sarcasm.

"You think I'm arrogant."

 "I know you're arrogant."

He laughs once more. "One, I am a firm believer in the fact that arrogance is simply well-deserved confidence, and I have every right to be confident. Two, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, sweetheart."

Immediately, she responded.  "One, your arrogance shouldn't be an excuse to deliberately humiliate a person," she begins as he sat back and listened to every word coming out of her mouth. "Two, you scream arrogance. You display arrogance. You're practically allowing the whole world to judge your so-called cover," He opened his mouth to rebut when she quickly put a hand up to stop him. "And three, don't call me sweetheart."

He stared at her for a moment, not processing her words, but simply analyzing the charming and alluring person sat in front if him. She held his gaze for what felt like a lifetime, neither one of them daring to look away.

"Speechless?" She asks, pursing her lips.

"Amused."
