Chapter 28

"Holy shit, you're pink." 

Leo said after Lexie opened the door for them. 

"Yes, yes. I dyed it yesterday." She ran a hand through her hair as Laine and Shane touched it.

"Damn, you look great," Kei smiled widely at her. 

"Thank you," she grinned. "Nathan! They're here!" Lexie shouted from outside their apartment door, possibly waking all of their neighbors. She had her backpack on along with a navy blue shirt, black leggings, and black combat boots. She was outside their apartment with Joe, Shane, Leo, Kei, Louis and Laine, waiting for Nathan to finish packing. He was so confident about packing an hour before they left and now he's late.

"I'm coming!" He ran towards her with his backpack in hand and a massive tumbler. 

"Fashionably late, Nathan?" Louis teased as Nathan locked their apartment. 

"My bad." 

"Woah, what the-" Joe said as he played with the chunk of Nathan's pink hair. He looked at Lexie, then back to Nathan, then at Lexie, then to Nathan again. 

Leo chuckled at him and shook his head. 

"Is this your version of a proposal?" Shane asked, gesturing to Nathan and Lexie's hair. 

"It was Lexie's idea." Nathan smirked. 

"Hey!" Lexie smacked his bicep. "You dared me to."

"No, Wanda. I dared you to dye your hair pink. Not mine."

"Well you agreed anyway."

They walked to the elevator and Laine smirked at the two of them. "I guess you two are winning couple of the year."

"And they're not even a couple yet," Kei smirked playfully.

They exited the apartment building and took their seats in Louis' van. It was a really big van and Lexie forgot just how rich Louis is. 

Lexie sat by the window, Nathan beside her. 

"Who's driving?" Leo asked.

"Me," Louis rolled his eyes. "As always." 

Lexie turned to Nathan and shook her head, "I told you to pack last night."

"Yes, ma'am. I apologize. I couldn't find my stupid shirt."

"I thought shirts are overrated?"

The engine started and the others clapped and cheered, excited. Louis shouted, "Forest, here we come!"

"Hey, pinky!" Joe called Lexie's attention and handed her one of the tents. "Can you guys set that up? Shane and I'll look for some logs for the fire."

"Okay, be careful. There might be serial killers nearby..." 

Shane chuckled, "You're the best person to go camping with, Lex. Thanks." 

The two walked away hand in hand and Lexie called out to them again, "Don't have sex in the woods! That's disgusting!" 

Louis chuckled as he handed a sleeping bag to Laine. The rest of them started to assemble the two large tents - one for the girls and one for the boys. Nathan grabbed the instructions that Laine was reading and crumpled it up in his hands. 

"Hey!" Laine exclaimed. "Lexie, your boyfriend's being rude. Can you lock him up somewhere?"

Louis snickered.
