An hour later, Lexie stood outside Vance Incorporated,  waiting for the sun to finally set. It became a habit of her to watch the sun go down and be replaced by the bright moon. She feels the addictive tranquility she constantly longs for whenever she starts to see the moon replace the sun and the ever-so luminescent stars shine brighter than before. She closed her eyes and exhaled all the stress and agony that comes with entering this building. Lexie found herself reminiscing about the moments when she eagerly waited to enter Vance. Now, she dreaded every minute of being in that place. She became unwillingly acquiescent to the fact that she had to show up to this godforsaken building every single day.  At least recently, she found something to look forward to.

As if the universe have been reading her thoughts, the door flew wide open, revealing a group of men who loudly chattered and laughed. She dropped her head in hopes that she'll remain inconspicuous, but even when the light blue sky turned midnight black, that bright red hair of hers would never go unnoticed.

A man loudly whispers to the group, "Isn't that Lexie?" The footsteps stopped and Lexie began to mutter profanities under her breath. "Hey!", another voice called. As much as she didn't want to, Lexie turned around to face the group of men, but her eyes took notice of only one person. He had an infamous smirk plastered on his face, but his hair was ruffled as if he'd been trying to fix it, but gave up instead.

"Evening." She politely greeted as they walked towards her. "Good evening. I'm Joe, this is Louis and Leo." The short man named Joe introduces himself as he points to his other friends. "And this is Nathan." Lexie nodded, looking at Nathan for a split-second. She held her hand out and introduced herself, "I'm-" Louis cuts her off and chuckled. "Lexie, we know. What you did to that guy back there is unbelievable. You're starting to attract a lot of attention, ya know?" He nudged Lexie's arm while the other guys laughed along. "I think he deserved it." She said as she timidly looked down. Nathan noticed her action, the way she seems so shy here but astoundingly confident and sure of herself when they're together.

"So,  how do you know how to shoot?", the man named Leo speaks up. Nathan immediately grinned, anticipating her answer. Lexie took a second to pause, trying to come up with what to say. "Practice, I guess." She says, shrugging. She subtly glanced at Nathan who was already looking at her, smiling at her answer.  Leo chuckled, "Maybe you can give us some more tips. I'd like to beat James Bond here some day." He slapped Nathan's chest, making the champion slap his arm back. "You can only wish, Leo." Lexie looked up at Nathan, who uttered his first words since they saw her and raised her brows in a way of saying "seriously?" Nathan nodded his head, answering Lexie's unasked question.

Lexie opened her mouth to bid farewell to the guys, when Joe asked her a candid question. "Do you drink, Lexie?" Her eyebrows furrowed in surprise and confusion. "Uhh..." She saw Nathan lightly punch Joe's arm, followed by a "dude." Lexie chuckled and responded, "No, I don't."

"Damn. Why not?" Joe asked, which was followed by a louder "Dude" from Nathan. He raised his hands up in surrender and turned to Lexie. "Sorry." Lexie chuckled, "I just- I don't know I guess I don't like alcohol." Joe nodded and smiled at Lexie. "We'll be at my house tonight to drink and hang out, it's like 10 minutes away. Do you want to come?" Leo invites her, hoping that she'll come. Hesitancy was clear on Lexie's face as the guys await her response. "I don't know. I mean, you guys will be drunk and I don't think that's a-" She was cut off again, this time by Nathan. "I won't drink if you'll come." She was taken aback by the determination and sincerity in his voice, his words shocking her. It clearly surprised Nathan's friends too, as they look at him as if he grew a second head.

Lexie contemplated inwardly, thinking about everything that could happen. She is what you'd call a paranoid person, but can you blame her? Nothing in this world is safe. She thought about her decision for what felt like an eternity to the guys when she finally answered. "Maybe for an hour." Joe, Leo and Louis all cheered but Lexie was only fixated on one person's reaction. He was grinning like a child on Christmas day as he leaned towards Lexie's ear. "You won't regret it."
