"When daw babalik si Kuya Walter, Kuya?" I asked him as he parked in the school vicinity.

"After four days. He'll wait until his daughter's health be stable."

Tumango naman ako. Sumabay ako kay Kuya ngayon because Kuya Walter needs to go home because of his daughter. Kuya said she's in a hospital because of high fever pero baka maka go home na rin siya tomorrow.

I went out of the car and put my bag on my back while I watch my Kuya, "How about later? Late ka na naman uuwi. How about me?"

He looked at me like I am his biggest stress. So early naka kunot na ang noo niya.

"Call a taxi, Astrid. And before you get inside take a picture of the plate number and send it to me."

I make face and walked na, hindi ko na siya hinintay at nagpunta na kay Cali na nasa restroom daw malapit sa room namin. It's so early pa for class today dahil mamayang eleven pa iyong class naming, but because of teacher's day, eight palang here na me at ineenjoy nalang ang lakarin.

The whole class is in chaos because of volunteers sa iba't ibang designated works. Tahimik lang naman ako because what will I ambag? Wala akong maisip. Sometimes, I can't blame din naman my classmates kung bakit sila mukhang inis sa akin.

I'm not masungit naman, because I'm not scowling at people who talks to me. Wala akong friends sa room because I don't actually like my classmates. They all look competitive and hindi sila mukhang genuine. Maybe because I'm always in pilot section.

"How about you, Astrid?" napalingon ako kay Celine, Class Captain namin.

Natuon naman ang pansin nila sa akin. I cleared my throat and sat up straight. I looked at Cali who pointed the board. Nakasulat ang pangalan niya sa art group. Wow. Hindi ko alam na may talent siya sa art.

I bit my inner lip and looked at Celine, "Uh... should I... buy the needed props?" hindi ko siguradong tanong.

Nang ngumiti siya ay napabuntong hininga ako. "That's great! Ang layo pa naman ng supplies dito, ikaw na doon ah? Thank you!"

I filled my mouth with air and looked at Cali who's smiling at me. "Tulala pa kasi." I blow the air at her face. "Ew! Kadiri nito!"

I chuckled and shifted on my sit. Nang matapos maayos iyong mga gagawin namin, everyone settled in to what they'll do. Naiwan akong hindi pa na bo'bother kumilos doon. I inwardly groaned and stood up.

I went to Reena, our treasurer. She showed me her fake smile, "I'm going to buy the needed materials. Is the money settled na ba?"

"Oh, yup! Here." inabot niya sa akin ang isang long pouch. "And this one, is the list of the materials."

Hindi naman na ako nag salita at kinuha na iyon. I walked outside. Hindi na ako nagpaalam pa kay Cali na busy makipag usap doon. I walked and read the paper I'm holding. Halos manlaki naman ang mata ko. This is so dami naman!

Ten cartolina, five felt paper, so many curtain foils, letter balloons, ordinary balloons, bakit kailangan pa ng latex balloon holder? Mayroon ba nito dito sa supplies ng school? Sa party needs shop yata dapat me magpunta. And why do they need magazines pa? Are we in grade school? Hindi naman paper mosaic ang gagawin ah?

Am I too occupied by my thoughts I didn't even know what these things are for? Confetti, oh goodness there is so much to carry! Why am I alone again?

Sobrang layo ng mga stores sa building namin. Pawis na pawis na ako ng makarating doon, ang init pa naman. I went to different stores dahil wala sa iisang store lahat ng bibilhin. Hinuli ko iyong cartolina, felt paper and confetti because that's so heavy to carry around.
