Snobbish

"I thought it's cloudy?" I hissed and looked at Cali.

Inirapan naman ako nito, "Iyon ang sabi sa weather report? Bakit sakin ka nagagalit?"

"Because you're wrong! Look, we're both wearing sweaters! And init init!"

Binaba naman niya ang shades na soot ko na nasa aking ulo. She shushed me and glare as we walk out of the airport. I am wearing a cap and a mask and shades. Tapos naka panlamig pa ako. I am seriously irritated!

"Sorry naman. Sabi ng pagasa kanina makulimlim daw, mukhang hindi pa din nagbabago ang Pilipinas dahil madaming surprises!"

I groan at her and went inside the van. Sumakit ang ulo ko sa haba ng byahe at sa init ngayon dito. It's been years when I left Philippines and now, I'm back for work. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited to model for Enchantress, but, it's so init talaga!

"Like I told you, doon tayo sa nakuha kong condo, malapit iyon sa Enchantress like you requested because we all know the traffic here. Walang kupas!"

I can't help but to chuckled. It's true though, we're actually stuck in traffic right now. I am so pissed about the weather, but I'm still quite happy to be back home. It's my home pa din naman kahit I spend almost a decade in New York.

This is where I grew up and it will always be home. My eyes are wandering outside, as we passed the buildings, billboards and the actresses and actors in it. Hindi na pamilyar. I'll definitely watch tv later.

I sighed and closed my eyes after. So nostalgic.

"Okay ka lang?" baling sa akin ni Cali.

"Yeah, I'm already tired."

Mahigit isang oras ang naging byahe bago kami nakarating sa condo na binili ni Cali. Everything is settled, furniture, utensils and toiletries. I was about to come and hug her for taking care of everything but when I open the fridge, napapikit kaagad ako.

"Sorry! Okay? Inuunahan na kita. I was planning to go and get groceries when we get here that I forgot to tell the helpers to buy some at least."

I pursed my lips and look at her as she smiles apologetically, kahit kailan talaga! Hindi ko alam kung hindi ko ba kayang mabuhay ng wala siya or is it actually the other way around. She always forgets things!

"What now? I'm hungry Cali!"

She chuckled, "I know, I know. Ako rin naman? Kumain nalang tayo sa labas?"

I sighed and still can't get over that she forgot the foods!

"Nobody's gonna notice you! Wala naman may alam na nandito ka sa Pilipinas, right?"

"And if meron?"

She looked up, thinking. I groaned again and walk pass her. Natawa na naman siya at humabol sa akin. I wear my cap and mask again, readying myself to go. Wala naman akong choice kundi ang sumunod sa kaniya, or else magugutom ako dito.

"We can go to exclusive restaurant! For VIP's, para private okay?"

"Do we have reservation?"

"Oh right."

"Oh right? Ewan ko talaga sa'yo!"

Sumunod siya sa akin na nagmamadali nang makarating sa pinto.

"Sorry na nga e. Hindi na mauulit! Promise!"

"As if that's true." I mocked.

She just chuckled and walked beside me. Nang makarating ng basement ay agad pinatunog ni Cali ang sasakyan. She bought a new Chevy SUV before asking me. Sabi niya ay maganda itong bagong labas kaya ito na ang binili niya. What am I gonna say pa?
