While she was skipping happily in the snow and chattering with her classmates an annoying voice kept following her."STOP IGNORING ME! Take care of this mess, you can't leave ME like this!" the curse was yelling at her and she promptly ignored him.
"Miko-chan your bento looks so pretty!" Shinzo continued her conversation in such a carefree way that made the king of curses go red with rage.
Not only she summoned him and she fucked up, but she was even ignoring him, HIM.
He got whatever he wanted when he wanted and here and now he wasn't getting that and that was denied by a weak and useless human child. If he could have his way, all of this stupid town would have been slaughtered by now.Alas he couldn't, and the brat didn't even acknowledge him.
The demon continued pestering her for all of the trip, at some point he had finally shut up, he probably was sobbing somewhere she thought to herself, after all asshole with an ego could be pretty sensibile.
When she finally arrived home, she announced she had came back and her strange family came to greet her back.
"We missed you, did you have fun dear?" the old woman went to ruffle Shinzo's hair as she showed her the pretty flower she had picked up.
The curse was bewildered the old hag just touched her even if she was a ghost, what the hell?!
They were all laughing and chattering while the brat ate an onigiri, Sukuna found it obnoxious, and she was still ignoring him.
So he decided to make his presence known to the other spirits, he couldn't touch her, but maybe he could touch other spirits, a malevolent grin spread over his face.
"Hate to crush your party here, but I'm afraid you aren't such a nice host kid." he grinned while getting a hold of little Ryota's hair.
The king bathed in their fearful gazes, soon he would enjoy some bloodshed and the girl's pleads to spare her ghosts attendants, that's what their role was right?
Everything was going as he wanted or so he thought, until he noticed the girl bored gaze, he still didn't mind him at all, even when he was clutching her little attendant.
"Mister Sukuna can you drop my little brother, you are hurting him." she finally opened her mouth, just to say that, no emotion in her could be seen, she actually seemed disinterested and a little bit amused now.
He snarled and went to rip the kids had off, but he didn't realise he already dropped the child and now stood there like an idiot, empty handed.
Ryota went sobbing to Sumire and he hugged her while she soothed him running a hand through his hairs.
"WHAT DID YOU DO BRAT?!" oh now he was seriously livid, this kid, she ordered him around, she had put him under some spell, no one told him what to do.
"Let's make a pact Mister Sukuna!" she cheerfully asked extending her hand.
He clicked his tongue and when he was about to yell at her face she started stating conditions.
"You are going to teach me how to defeat those monsters and in exchange..."
She would probably offer her soul, Human often did that and that would be the bare minimum after all she had put him through.
"...I won't ignore you!"
He nodded to himself, that seemed reasonable after all a soul would be appropriate and then he would enjoy tearing away her limbs one by one once she got what she wan-wait-he repeated what the girl said in his head, did he hear her correctly?
"Mister Sukuna is everything all right? You froze up all of a sudden!" she was staring at him with some level of concern.
Meanwhile the three ghosts cowered in fear at the corner of the room, they could feel how heavy the room was with Sukuna's bad mood.
"I'm Ryōmen Sukuna!" he snarled dumbfounded, hoping that the kid would finally get a hint and start to cower in fear and ask for forgiveness like she should.
"And?" she looked at him with a biased expression.
"Wha-You should be offering your soul in exchange, not-" he gesticulated trying to explain whatever this was.
"I'll accept your offer when hell will freeze!"he answered cockily, this for sure would get her begging for-
"Aw, that's a bummer."
'What' that's all he could think of.
She got back idly chatting with the still shaking ghosts, just as if nothing had just happened."S-Shinzo-chan don't y-you think you should be more fearful of that ghost behind you?" a visibly shaken man with half his face blown off asked her.
"What ghost? There are only the three of us here!" she finally answered while looking Sukuna dead in the eyes, well at least in one of the sets of eyes.
And she turned back to cheerfully munching on her onigiri.
That was fine, he told himself, he didn't need some brat attention, even if he was stuck as a ghost he would find a way to take his powers back and make this kid regret her life choices.
He went for the door, he couldn't go through it... he was stuck here with this brat, of course she was his summoner and summoned spirits always had to stay close to their summoner.
He hated her.
He was THE Sukuna Ryōmen he didn't need some little girl attention, he would wait for a vessel to appear and then leave this hellish house, he could wait, did so for centuries.
——————————————————-
He was lying to himself, he couldn't. It had been a whole month, she didn't even acknowledge him, she would sometimes look at him to indirectly mock him and make snide remarks on the pact.
She even convinced the ghost to ignore him and for some reason he wasn't able to touch them anymore.
He was going crazy, how could someone, a 10 years old, be this much petty and stubborn. He couldn't wrap his head around it, should he accept the pact? No, that would be humiliating at his very best. However he couldn't live like this for another month, he was going to die from boredom.
He tried EVERYTHING to get her attention, pestering her at school while she was reading some stupid book. Tried to appear out of nowhere and making his best scary face. Tried to keep her awake at night, maybe if she wouldn't get any rest she would become just as restless as him and stopped ignoring him.
But nothing, NOTHING, seemed to work with her. She couldn't be human, no human would be so much unresponsive.
Did he mention that he wanted to rip her into a million of pieces, only then he would achieve a peaceful state of mind. Ah yes, thinking about bloodshed kept him sane...then he remembered he couldn't even do that because he was a fucking POWERLESS SPIRIT.
