Saying that Dan was freaked out by the revaluation that he had slept with God's ex wife would be the understatement of the century. He had practically interrogated Chloe and Lucifer for every detail regarding Charlotte and the Goddess.

It was now Friday. Lucifer and Chloe had somehow gotten roped into babysitting Charlie by Amenadiel and Linda for the day. And the aggravating spawn absolutely REFUSED to stop crying!

The three of them were currently in Chloe's living room. Chloe was holding Charlie, trying to calm him down. Chloe remembered when Trixie was at this stage, and she did not miss moments like these.

"MAYBE YOUR DOING SOMETHING WRONG!" Lucifer shouted over Charlie's wailing. Pretty soon he'd be wailing himself if this continues.

Chloe sighed. She had tried everything. She checked his diaper (much to Lucifer's disgust), fed him from the bottle, tried rocking him in her arms like she used to with Trixie, and a few more things that her jumbled mind couldn't remember at this moment.

It was starting to look like Charlie just wanted to complain. He must have gotten it from his uncle.

"I'm used to dealing with a very different kind of screaming on Fridays. Or any days." Lucifer commented, voice full of irritation. It didn't help that he had been hoping that him and the Detective would be experiencing that kind of screaming on their day off.

"Are you absolutely SURE that whiskey wouldn't help?" Lucifer asked as he held his flask containing said whiskey. Chloe rolled her eyes. "No, Lucifer. For the hundredth time, we are not giving a baby whiskey!"

Lucifer shrugged then took a good swig himself. Hoping that it would by some miracle impair his hearing..... No such luck.

"There's gotta be something that will calm him down.. Besides whiskey!" Chloe quickly added when Lucifer held out the whiskey to her again.

"Well, the only thing I know of that calms the spawn down is my devil face." Lucifer says dismissively. Chloe slowed her rocking and gave Lucifer a look. "Why didn't you say so before! Show him your face."

Lucifer looked at The Detective surprised. "Pardon?"

"Show him your face if it will calm him down. I will go pull down the curtains." Lucifer was very taken aback by Chloe's eagerness for him to show his devil face. "What?" Chloe asked, taking in his expression.

"But... won't you be afraid?" Lucifer asked tentatively. Chloe's expression softened. Chloe maneuvered Charlie on her lap so that she was able to place a hand on Lucifer's thigh.

"Lucifer, I already told you. I'm not afraid of you."

"But you were. Remember? You almost couldn't accept me because of my devil face."

Guilt seared through Chloe. Chloe couldn't tell you how much she wishes that she could go back and rewrite that part of their history. How she wishes she could erase all of the pain she had caused the man she loves. But unfortunately, she couldn't go back. All she could do was try to make things right in the present.

"I may have felt that way before, but I don't anymore. It was ridiculous of me to ever be afraid of you. Lucifer, I l-" Chloe stopped herself from saying the L word. Lucifer still hadn't said it back, and Chloe hadn't told him that she loves him since the first time right before he went back to Hell.

"I care about you so much." Chloe opted to say instead. "And not just the good, angelic parts. But the devil part too. All of you."

Lucifer gave her one of those rare small genuine smiles she loved so much. She smiled encouragingly. Lucifer's Adam's apple bobbed as he shifted in his chair. He faced his crying nephew, then glanced at his detective, looking for confirmation.
