"Put your gun down!" He demanded. Chloe did as he asked. She slowly sat the gun down and slid it towards him. Then
Chloe put her hands up after a moment and slowly stood. Lucifer was standing a couple feet away from her, while Irisia was standing in a corner on the other side of the room. Paul's eyes were watery, full of emotion, and his hands shook slightly. He obviously wasn't a cold blooded killer just judging by the emotions running across his face.

But he was obviously desperate. "Paul, you don't have to do this," Chloe said, trying to talk him down. Irisia considered just walking up to the man and taking his weapon, but he could shoot Chloe dead in the meantime. Which, Irisia could live with, but there was also a chance that he might shoot her brother. And since he was annoyingly vulnerable, that wouldn't be good.

So, Irisia stayed where she was. There was a jug of what looked like gasoline on the floor behind Paul, and considering where the murder weapon was, it was obvious what he was about to do. "Those girls, Nina and Rox, had sold your son Leo those drugs, hadn't they?" Chloe asked gently. She had her phone in her front pocket, recording any possible confessions.

"I...I.. I'm sorry..." Paul said, with deep pain in his voice. Chloe felt for the man. He was a victim too, in a way. A victim of others greed. "But I couldn't let them get away with it. They killed my son. He was all I had left." Tears had started running down his face. "I'll turn myself in. I'll give you a confession, I'll do whatever you want. But first, I have to make the other girl pay."

"She will pay, Paul. She will go to prison and pay for what she did." Chloe tried to reason, but Paul shook his head. "No, that isn't good enough. Leo was all I had left, and they took him from me! And for what, money?" Paul said, disgust and anger clear in his voice.

"Well, your son could have said no, but he chose the drugs. So, that also says a lot about him." Lucifer unhelpfully pointed out.

Paul aimed the gun at Lucifer, he had hit a nerve. "He was in pain! He had watched his mother die a slow and painful death! He was hurting! And they took advantage of it!" Paul yelled.

"Paul, I couldn't possibly understand the pain your going through," Chloe tried. He pointed the gun back at her, much to Lucifer's unliking.

"I have a daughter at home, and I couldn't even begin to fathom what I'd do if I lost her." That obviously got through to him. He didn't want to take a mother away from a child. The last thing he wanted was to cause anyone the same pain his son felt. His grip on the gun loosened slightly, but he still had his finger on the trigger.

"So...so you understand why I'd do this? Why I need to do this? Why they need to pay?"

"Yes, I understand why you feel like you need to punish those girls. But Paul, you don't need to. Rox is going to prison, and after that someday, if she doesn't fix things, she will go to hell." Chloe figured Paul was religious considering the cross hanging on the wall. And besides, wasn't like she was lying.

Paul shook his head. "No, prison isn't good enough. And I don't think I believe anymore. Not after Leo." He said, his voice breaking when he mentioned his son.

"Alright, just so we have everything straight," Irisia said, drawing the killer's attention on her. He pointed the gun at her like she predicted. She had an idea. She'd noticed the gun in the little human's boot, and figured she could get it out if the man was distracted. And he could shoot Irisia all day with a machine gun, and she'd be fine. So she wasn't too worried about her own well-being. She just hoped that the human was smart enough to use the opportunity she gave her.

"Your son had started using drugs to deal with the death of his mother, those two girls, Nina Parkman and Rox Delen, had been the ones to sell him those drugs. You sent them threatening notes, saying you'd kill them. Then your son dies of a overdose. The notes stop. Then, one week later, you somehow find Nina, and bash her skull in, using the mallet that is currently residing the fireplace. And now you plan on killing the other girl. Am I missing anything?"
