Damon King

"Damon wait," The sound of her voice stopped me as I walked down the stairs. I turn to see her standing at the top of the stairs with no emotion on her face.

She slowly walks down the stairs with her eyes focused on mine every step she took.

Not being able to tell if she was angry or not bothered me. Not one word left our lips, just the sound of the men down the hall and our eyes focused amongst each other's.

Once she was standing a step over me, she stopped.

"Starr he deserved to be put down. If not your father than m—," I try to explain before she cuts me off by unexpectedly kissing me.

Giving into the kiss, I kiss her back as she wraps her arms around my neck. Taking her into my embrace as we stood kissing on her dad's stairs once again.

I smile at the unexpected tongue she slipped into my mouth. "Was that tongue?" I question as now I can see a smile on her face.

She returns a warm smile back. "Don't act so surprised," She pushes my shoulder back.

I laugh, but then I'm brought back to reality. "I thought you were mad at me for kicking his ass."

"Always so cocky," She responds back playfully rolling her eyes. "But no..." She pauses as one hand was wrapped around my neck and the other played with my hair. "I stood there thinking about how you are the only person in the world who genuinely cares about me."

"And I always will," I promise.

She smiles then gestures towards the front door. "We should get out of here before my dads storm starts." I nod my head and take her hands into mine. Leaving all that was bothering me, behind me.

Well that's what I thought.

Thinking that we had a chance to leave without any alterations, Ivan has stopped us. "You're leaving after what your disrespectful ass boyfriend has done?"

My eye shift to Starr as she stands there unfazed by his words. "Dad it's almost 7 am. I've been here for more than two hours picking up the mess you let happen."

Ivan walks down a few steps. "So you're leaving with him?"

"Yes dad, what do you think?" Sarcasm rise in her voice. "I'll be back over to help with Issac and maybe we could work on whatever this relationship is between us, but... I will not help with Antonio. Not after all he's done."

"You're making this about Antonio?" He yells at her.

"Don't speak to her like that," I yell over him. "Based on your decisions, I'd like to think that you have no authority to speak to Starr like that... ever."

I watched as anger rose in his face. "How could you let him disrespect me? I don't want you with him."

She must have felt me about to speak because she placed her hand on my arm. "You lost that right before you even thought you had it. You lost that when you decided I didn't need my father. You lost that when you let me be hurt by someone you called son. And I—," She pauses.

She takes a deep breath.

"I forgive you because I know people make mistakes. But there's only so many you can make," She said sternly. "Now... I'd appreciate it if you would not treat me like a little girl and treat me like a human or possibly your daughter."

He doesn't respond.

"I'm fucking baffled," He groans.

She shakes her head. "There's your guilt showing. I can't tell if your angry that you can't control me or your angry that Antonio just got his ass whooped."
