Starr Marie
We made our way into the house slowly but surely.
The whole time Leah was dragging her feet walking slowly behind me. Of course I didn't protest against her actions. I knew how she was feeling, and I wasn't going to make her rush so far deep into something as big as this.
We stopped in front of the front door. I let my finger tips brush along the door handle without fully gripping it.
I take a look over my shoulder to see her pacing in a stance. "Are you ready?" I give her a nice, reassuring tone knowing what we'll walk into.
"No," She responds. "But it seems like life is ready for it to happen anyways."
I let her words sink into my brain. Taking it as an okay, I slowly open the door. From the way Orlando stood in the living room with Chris, I knew this was serious.
Shutting the door behind us as Leah stands next to me awkwardly, Orlando speaks up. "Leah," He says her name in a stern manner.
"I'm sorry," She responds without listening to what he had to say. He begins his journey towards us and Leah began to panic. "Believe me."
"Believe?" He questioned her. "You couldn't tell me the truth. The truth Leah. That's all you had to do. I'm your fucking brother."
She pleads towards him. "I fucked up okay," She yells. "Don't blame Chris. I just really fucking liked him. He likes me for me. Don't you get that— me. All of the other assholes just wanted some ass and that's it..." Tears began rolling down her cheek.
"But Chris—," She's suddenly cut off by Chris.
"Leah," He calls her name. But she doesn't care.
"Chris," She takes her eyes off Chris and lands them on Orlando. "He wants to be with me for me. Not for the reasons those assholes want me."
Orlando just stands there with an angrier expression on his face. It was far worse that the first one. "What?" He yells.
"Orlando I—," He cuts her off.
"What the hell are you talking about?" He questions her.
She frowns throwing her hands up. "Really? I'm sure you've suspected that this has been going on for months."
"What do you mean?" He yells.
"Orlando. Chris and I ha—," She's cut off by Chris.
"He doesn't know about us."
The whole room goes silent. Deadly. Confusing. Filled with pressure. Heat. Anger.
"What?" Leah questions.
Orlando balls his fist up in anger, then drops his hands to his side. Silence again pass over us as we watch Orlando's frustrated expression goes into a emotion far worse. "So you're telling me... you've been fucking my best friend?"
Leah bits her lip in fear. Though she doesn't answer.
"Have you been fucking Chris?" He says in frustration, trying to keep calm.
"No," Leah yells in a high pitch voice. "We've been just hanging out. That's all."
He takes a huge step towards Leah pointing at her in anger. "You shouldn't have been doing anything with him in the first place."
"Orlando. I understand that you're upset, but doing this in-front of everyone..." I point at me and the guards who stood around the room. "... won't fix your problem but make it worse."
Orlando rolls his eyes. "Shut the fuck up," He yells in anger at me.
Holding my composure, I say my next few words in a stern tone. "Like I said. I understand that you're upset. You have every right to be," I agree with him. "But..." Here comes the opposition. "This would be more beneficial if spoken about alone."
