I woke up to an enticing smell. Suddenly everything came flooding back. I slowly opened my eyes and the first face I saw was Aiden. He was leaning over me with intense worry in his eyes.
“SER!” he practically yelled as he hugged me tightly.
I didn’t say anything, I just hugged him back.
“Serenity, we need to talk and you need to talk to Jacobe.” Ethan said softly.
I cringed at the velvety voice that belonged to the person I’ve called mine for so long. I felt the tears burn my eyes as I bit my lip to keep from breaking down again.
Aiden most have noticed.
Using his alpha voice he said, “No. Not right now. She needs to rest, take a shower and eat something. You can talk tomorrow, but only if I’m present. For the time being you may take a guest room Jacobe.
Ethan opened his mouth to protest but Aiden shot daggers at him with his eyes. He instantly bowed down, unable to defy his alpha.
Jacobe reluctantly nodded.
“If either of you defy me or try to speak to her when I’m not present I won’t hesitate to kill you,” he growled.
“Ethan will show you to your room,” he added.
Both boys just stood there staring at me.
“NOW LEAVE.” Aiden growled.
Ethan look at the floor and exited the room silently, with one last glance at me, Jacobe did the same.
As soon as the door shut I burst into tears unable to hold them back any longer.
Aiden sat there letting me cry into his chest for hours, reassuringly rubbing my back.
“Shhhh… “He said, “You’re stronger than this Ser. Don’t let them get you down.”
I nodded and stepped back, “I’m going to go take a long bath and try to get my mind off of things” I said quietly.
He nodded and said “Of course, I’ll be in the kitchen making you some food.”
“I’m not hungry” I mumbled.
“Too bad, you need to eat something.” He replied
I nodded and went into the bathroom and turned on the hot water to my Jacuzzi tub and let it fill up. I stripped down and got in grabbing my IPod and putting my head phones in my ears, I turned the song to Look Away, by Chicago. And as it began to play I let the tears silently fall.
When you called me up this morning told me ‘bout the new love you found I said I’m happy for you, I’m really happy for you. Found someone else, I guess I won’t be coming round, I guess it’s over baby; it’s really over baby, whoa oh. And from what you said, I know you’ve gotten over me. It’ll never be, the way it used to be. So if it’s got to be this way. Don’t worry baby, I can take the news okay. But if you see me walking by, and the tears are in my eyes look away baby look away. If we may almost meet someday and I don’t know what to say look away look away, don’t look at me. I don’t want you to see me this way.
I sunk down into the tub, absent mindedly rubbing my belly.
At least I know you will never leave me. I thought.
Seconds later Ethan burst through the door screaming.
“Serenity get out and shift!” he yelled.
“Ethan’s what’s going…” I started.
“Were being attacked by rouges!” he proclaimed “Hurry up I need to get you and the baby out of here!”
