Chapter 12

Damon's POV

After mine and Parker's let's say altercation ,I heard him mention to our mother this morning that he would be taking my mate to school today. I was fuming at first ,that it should be me who is taking her to school everyday not him .I realise maybe it's best if I don't take her today cause my mate hasn't seen the best side of me yet , she looked utterly terrified when I went all alpha wolf mode on Parker. It makes my wolf whimper to remember the scared look on her face.

I did decide that maybe it was best that at least it was someone I know and trust to a certain extent even though we do have our
Differences ,that was taking my mate to school. I did specifically instruct Parker to come sit with me at break and bring my mate with him so I could finally properly talk to her and start of on the right foot.

I was now waiting for my twat of a brother and my beautiful mate to appear

My nose picked up the sent of vanilla and oranges come into the cafeteria,my wolf was feeling more at peace now knowing she is getting closer to being near me.

Looking around I finally spot her with my brother trailing behind glaring at people who looked at my mate with lust .I had to bite back a growl.I need to keep my wolf in check to not scare of my beautiful mate until she's ready to know my secret of being a werewolf.

I felt enticed by her beauty just her walk alone has me wanting to drop to me feet and show her how much I love her. I can't be thinking like this to soon ,I need to take it step by step for my mates sake as she is human and doesn't understand our world.

She was a few steps away from reaching the table I was sat at. My heart was beating out of its chest.

Out of the corner of my eye I could see my brother face drop to a serious panicked expression. He wasn't looking at me he was looking behind me

I turned around

How could it be

How did they get here on my territory

Vampires

I shot up from my seat and turned towards the vial creatures keeping my mate behind me. If anything happens to her ,I couldn't live with myself.

I mind linked Parker to take my mate away from here this instant I can't have her being in the centre of a fight. Parker did argue with me that I couldn't take on 5 vampires at once but with my alpha voice he shut up and obeyed my orders as he pulled my mate away from the scene about to take place

I felt as if I had more than just fighting for my pack I had too fight for my precious mate too, to keep her safe

I could feel the adrenaline racing through my veins with power ,I'd not felt this much power before. My wolf told me it's cause we have a reason to fight for now ,there is much more at risk for us now we had our mate. I couldn't lose her .I won't lose her .she's gonna be mine forever and no vampire is gonna get in my way.

Everyone else had left ,in the cafeteria was only werewolves who are apart of my pack.growling through the pack mind link  I told them to take out any vampire and sweep the premises for anymore of the creatures.

Lunging forward me and my pack shifted then charged attacking them .snarls and growls were echoing throughout the building. Blood splattered all over the once white walls .

A vampire came a tried to bite my left shoulder ,grabbing the creature I locked my teeth around it's neck and snapped it ,throwing it over to another vampire coming towards me knocking him right on the floor. That brought amusement to my wolf thing of it as vampire bowling.

What appeared to be The leader of this little gang of vampire flew at me pushing me to the ground.snarling at him I scratched my claws down he shoulder causing him to wince.

He was distracted by this so I took my chance to strike at his neck ,flipping us over till he was now the one in a vulnerable position

The vampire red eyes flashed with worry which he failed to be able to hide from me as he realised he had lost

His croaky voice spoke as he was gasping for air as my paw was on his throat

"We know the light is here ,we will get it "

Now I was just confused what light ,what the hell does he mean
I just growled at him pushing harder into his neck.

This made him let out a psychotic laugh with a grimace smile that pushed me over the edge. I pressed further into his neck until blood squirted all over my fur leaving him lying dead on the floor.

I needed to get back to the pack house and talk about what the vampire said to my beta and gamma. I need to find out what exactly the vampires are looking for.I can't have vampires crawling around in my territory with my precious mate around it's to unsafe for her.

Thinking of my mate this was a gruesome fight ,one I'm glad my mate didn't have to witness. The main part was that my pack came out on top loosing no members in the fight ,only a few broken bones and scratches.to some that might sound horrific but that will heal for werewolves in a day or to ,so no serious injuries.

Now all my attention had wonder to where my mate was and is she safe
