Spotting 'graveyard boy' stood beside his locker and consequently beside her own, she ran her eyes over him picking up the telltale signs of anxiety and paranoia immediately. Walking over to him, she reached into her bag and pulled out a small blue crystal about the size of the average nail polish bottle.
She was wearing a yellow t-shirt which was tucked into a blue maxi skirt that had a drawstring waist and pick flowers over it. It was a bold outfit but quite chill for her own taste. Since she hadn't washed her hair last night she'd thrown it into a messy bun and she had her usual necklace on and a collection of rings where none of them matched but they all looked good together. She had her usual greyish brown heeled boots on and altogether she felt rather pretty.
As she got close enough she quickly threw her greeting out since she knew if she didn't do it then she wouldn't do it at all.
"Hey," she greeted and he turned his head so tentatively as if he didn't believe she was talking to him at all, "I think this might help you," she said holding out the crystal to him and his eyes fell on it confused, "it's a blue lace agate. I noticed you seem a little...nervous," she admitted as he took it from her hand and inspected it, "it has a calming and soothing effect on the mind and helps you speak the truth...not that I think you're a liar or anything. I was focusing on the calming effect," she babbled now beginning to realise that this was probably a bad idea.
"It does?" He asked, in his own mind he was just looking at a decorative piece to be put on a shelf.
"Mhm. When you feel nervous you hold it in your hands, take three deep breaths and the calming energy will help soothe your spirit," she explained and he stared at her confused for a few moments not knowing how to react. He hadn't expected to speak to her again never mind have this encounter.
"Right well... thank you," he muttered trying to work out if there was an ulterior motive.
"Lena," a voice called out and she flinched as she saw Lydia approaching her. It was a quick glance that set her future in stone. She had no hope of escaping now.
"I'll see you around," he said stepping away and leaving and her eyes followed after him, her shoulders deflating as she reached up to grab onto the straps of her bag. The second she did a pain shot through her palm and she hissed pulling it away to look at. A small splinter sat at the back of her palm.
Frowning, she tried to think of how she could have possibly gotten it. It was a wood splinter - she hadn't been near any trees or wooden gates recently.
As 'graveyard boy' began to walk away, he peered down at the crystal which now rested in his palm. He didn't believe in magic crystals or healing powers but he did believe in kindness and that was a kindness that hadn't been shown to him in so long. Taking a risk, he looked back at her one last time to see her gazing down at her palm as Lydia stepped close enough to speak to her. He wondered if she was reading her palm; telling her future by the cracks in her skin. He just wondered what she was thinking.
"Since we're now best friends we're going to have to go to class together," she said, and Lena raised her brow as she looked up to her.
"Pardon?" Since when had they become best friends?
Another girl soon approached, she had long dark hair and a complexion that could easily compete against Snow White. If she didn't feel self-conscious in the presence of Lydia she definitely did now. Pressing her lips together, she looked between the two beauties trying to work out what they wanted from her.
"Allison this is Lena, Lena this is Allison," Lydia introduced gesturing between the two and following all the social rules she'd read about, Lena offered a smile to Allison who did the same back.
