Leaning against the chain of the swing, she released a sigh as she stared out at the floor in front of her. She should have been thinking about everything but every time she even tried to she'd just get irritated and feel the need to scream. It was chilly but the cold couldn't affect her like everything else was doing. It was just an added on inconvenience.
Someone sat beside her and she briefly glanced to the side to see Isaac on the swing, "thought you were leaving?" She droned, not lifting her head from the chain of the swing. She was gently rocking back and forth as if it would provide a good distraction.
"Yeah well, saw you out here thought I should stick with ya. Could be kidnappers, murderers, rapists and all sorts," he reminded as they glanced around the darkness. It felt odd to assume human evil when they now knew about the supernatural kind, "what are you doin' here?"
"I set the shelves on fire," she admitted blankly.
"You what?"
"With my mind," she added on and he raised his brow impressed with a nod. He reached into his pocket before holding his hand out to her. Glancing down, she looked at his hand confused for a second.
"You look like you need it more than I do," he said and she lifted her head up to get a closer look. Her human eyes were making it difficult to see what he was actually holding it out to her.
Hesitantly, she reached out before picking up the crystal and holding it up to her face. The moon danced upon the surface and let it reach it's full potential of beauty. She was silent for a moment.
"You kept it?" She asked, none of them looking at each other. They were simply staring off into the void before them. He shrugged not being able to conjure any words. Sighing, she threw the crystal back at him before kicking off the floor to begin swinging, "probably doesn't work anyhow."
He'd caught the crystal with ease and stared at it himself for a moment before putting it back in his pocket.
"What did you mean?"
"What?"
"That you didn't have anyone?"
"Ah well you know, mom and brother dead, dad was a nobody and then he died and then," he took in a deep breath, "well that's just it isn't it," he finalised and she glanced at him but said nothing. What could she say? For a moment she regretted even asking the question in the first place.
"Well, you know... I technically still need you. You never finished with the explanation of everything," she droned slowly and it was a second before he caught on and he glanced over at her with his brow raised and a smirk on his face.
"Is that you saying you want me here?" She opened her mouth to speak but he'd already begone again with his usual fake British accent which she couldn't deny was impressive and accurate, "I knew you secretly liked me."
"I do not like you," she scoffed but he was already laughing.
"You're right you clearly love me," he added on and she scoffed out in her own laugh. Forcing her feet onto the floor, she stopped swinging in favour to look over at him.
"You sure jumped to that conclusion real quick."
They waited another moment, "I have a proposition for you," he said and her brows furrowed as she looked him over to try and read him, "you need help sorting your own powers out. Spells and all. Perhaps I should help you. I'm pretty good at stuff like this."
"You've helped someone before?"
"Well...no, but I'm good at research," he confessed.
She thought about it for a second before she clasped her hands together and tucked them between her knees to keep them warm, "what do you want in return?"
