Checking the time on her phone, she ran to the beat of the music through her earphones (both a blessing and a curse since when the music was fast she'd be faster than anything but when it was slow so was she) it was 'Cleopatra' by The Lumineers. Forcing her phone back into her pocket and zipping it up, she continued to jog on with her mind whirling around the letter. That letter had been like a pair of shackles to her but every time she got near it her father would appear and she wouldn't be able to get it.
It was a Sunday night and unfortunately, she'd have to go back to school tomorrow and have another counselling session. Every Monday and Friday.
Hearing shouting of annoyance and irritation, she jogged to a stop before pulling out one of her earphones. Taking deep breaths, she turned her head to see Jackson (she didn't need to know him to know his name) being flagged by two others and he was being dragged towards an alleyway.
"I'll kill you little punks tomorrow," Jackson shouted and noticing that one of them was about to turn their head and look at her, she began to run again but this time didn't waste time putting her earphones back in.
Making it back to her own house which was at the bottom of that very same road, she unlocked the door before kicking off her shoes. Listening out for a few seconds a smile formed on her face as she realised the shower was running. Biting down on her lip, she crept over to the shelf before pulling the book down and opening it up to find the letter.
Except there was no letter.
Frowning, she shook the book and held it upside down trying to get the letter out but there was nothing. Flicking through each individual page she desperately tried to find it but it was as if it was never there.
The world was annoying her. She'd had the same nightmare, the same one she'd had for ages, three times last night. Except for this time she saw a face; his face.
She'd thrown her hair up into a messy thick bun which had strands falling in a stylish way and she had a deep red long-sleeved polo shirt which was loosely tucked into a pair of high-waisted dark wash 'boyfriend' jeans. She'd thrown a pair of Adidas shoes on with it since she didn't have many others.
As she took a seat in English, she leant back and slouched in her seat bringing her bag onto her lap to pull out her books for the day and as she did, she also pulled out a blue lace agate. It was the crystal she'd bought herself and it was much smaller than the one she'd given to 'graveyard boy'. This one could fit in one hand securely and no one would even know if she was holding it.
Ditching her bag onto the floor beneath the table, she held the crystal tight and closed her eyes taking a few deep breaths. It was like the power which as channelling through her was calming down.
"So, about that lie..." a voice called from beside her and her hand dropped down onto the table her irritation coming back ten-fold. Allowing her head to roll to the side she looked over at Scott annoyed. He was facing her with one hand on the back of his chair and the other leaning on the table, "I know you think it's stupid but it's really important that we know what's going on because you smell different-" her brows furrowed and her mouth fell open into that of an offended look, "meaning obviously the bite did something to you..."
He trailed off as someone walked into the classroom and he turned to look at them with a hopeless look in his eyes. The person who walked in was tall and radiating confidence; he wore a white t-shirt, jeans, and a leather jacket and Lena herself couldn't help but follow him with her eyes. It was like there was a strange tug telling her to focus on him.
