The rest of the trip was easy—we were shown another part of the museum after lunch, but this time we didn't have to do any work for it.
My head began to feel much better after the food and water, so I could at least pay attention somewhat. I found some of the things actually quite interesting.
Luckily enough, I didn't have to hang around with Eren for the last couple hours either—and Annie finally caught up with me for the last part of the tour. "(Y/N)! I feel like I've hardly seen you today."
I smiled at her. "Hey, Annie! It's alright, don't worry. How'd you like the trip?"
"It actually wasn't as bad as I thought. Mikasa was really helpful with the work—I never knew how smart she was." Annie paused, looking at me. "Hey, I'm sorry about just randomly joining with her. She's... helping me out with some things." A slight blush rose to her cheeks at the last part.
I raised my brows at her. "Oh? What kind of things?"
"Nothing—I... It's complicated."
I smiled at her. "You don't gotta tell me, don't worry." I decided not to push her on it, instead changing the subject. "I'm assuming you guys completed the worksheet, then?"
Annie nodded. "Yep—how about you and Eren?"
I tried to hide my cringe. "Yeah, we did. It took a little longer than normal, but at least it's done."
I felt bad about how I'd acted with Eren today. I knew I'd been more difficult than necessary—and I didn't even know what for. He had every right to get mad at me for these things—and I was only making matters worse. I was also just making my life harder by fighting it.
"So you don't hate him now?" She teased.
I huffed a laugh. "Don't count on that. Just because I worked with him doesn't mean we're all of the sudden besties."
Annie laughed. "I don't know how anyone could be his best friend. Poor Mikasa and Armin."
I raised my brows at her. "You seem to have all positive things to say about him."
She shrugged. "He treats you like shit—and he's annoying—what positive things are there about him?"
She had a point—but it still didn't stop me from feeling bad about what happened. Kind of.
The trip finished up, and we were back at the bus, lining up in twos once again. Annie asked if she could sit with Mikasa one last time, and I reassured her she could do whatever she wanted to—she didn't have to ask me. With a smile, she joined Mikasa at the front of the line up.
I saw Eren not too far behind them, and I approached him.
He gave me a side-long look. "Any more bitchy behaviour I should be warned of for the rest of today?" He asked, frowning down at me, and I tried not to feel embarrassed.
"Why—are you going to miss it?" I inquired, trying to play it off.
He shook his head. "Oh, most definitely, darling."
Why that nickname? "Watch it, Jaeger."
He watched me for a few moments with his arms crossed, frowning again. The line began to move as students filled up the bus.
