The last week of spring break went by faster than I'd expected—all time in which I spent working.

Either on my own or with Eren, I focused my hours attempting to complete as much work as I could after having wasted an entire week beforehand.

Not only with the campaign, but with the other subjects I'd been given work for over the break.

"(Y/N)?" A knock on my bedroom door. "Can I come in?" My mother's muffled voice sounded from the other side.

Sitting on my bed, I tossed my pencil onto the countless papers thrown about in front of me, my moms question snapping me back to reality.

"Yeah," I called, and she walked in holding a plate with some pasta.

"I brought this for you," she said softly, placing it down next to my bed. "I don't know how hungry you are but—"

"Thanks, mom," I replied, smiling at the offer. "I'm starving." Which was true, I'd forgotten to eat anything earlier today, so I didn't hesitate to reach for the plate and begin shoving it down immediately.

My mom stood by the door, hesitating awkwardly before leaving. "And you are... alright?"

I paused my eating mid-bite to look up at her, then quickly swallowed before answering. "I think so," I replied, but then realized something as I looked down.

It was the first time I didn't have to lie to her about my answer.

I hardly noticed that my mom left, the click of my door being the only sign she'd exited.

But it really was true—I felt okay.

Well I was compared to last week, that is.

I took a break from my homework, leaning back in bed to finish my pasta when I suddenly felt my phone buzz somewhere in the sheets.

I scoured around under the mess of papers and blankets in front of me until I found it, hesitating a second before answering, seeing my phone light up with Eren's contact.

Though things were now... different between us, I still couldn't help but feel nervous when I thought about him.

But I still answered before the time ran out.

"Hello?"

"Good—you're awake," he said by means of greeting.

I frowned, pulling my phone away to look at the time. "It's only 10:30–"

"So now that we have our topic," he said, cutting me off, "we have to finally make a schedule for working on this."

It was true—over the last week, Eren and I finally came to an agreement on the topic for our documentary. We'd gone through all our research and finally came to terms with one that would fulfill the documentary's requirements.

I frowned. "So you really called me just to say that?"

"Hm," he said, and I could almost see the obnoxious shrug he always did. "Texting isn't as fun. Plus I'm sure you missed my voice."
