Christine's pov
I can't believe I'm about to do this. 4:30. I have half an hour until he comes back. What if this is all some kind of prank? What if he doesn't come back? What if he is for real? What if I do get that part? All these questions were flying through my head and I started breathing fast and having a mini panic attack. 'Okay Christine. Get it together. Don't freak out over what you can't control. Either he comes back and you do whatever comes after that, or he doesn't come back and it will be like it never happened.' I told myself. The café was closed now so I grabbed a broom. I started sweeping to relax and get my mind off of things. Later I went to the bathroom and redid my hair and straightened my outfit. I went back out and waited. I stared at the clock. 4:58. 4:59. 5:00. I heard a knock on the door. I went and opened it and there stood jace. Part of me was hoping he wouldn't come, but there he was. "Right on the dot!" I said. "You said to come at five didn't you?" I had no argument to this so he came in. "So what exactly do I have to do?" I asked. "Well I talked to the producers and they have me some things to ask you while your on video and then I'll send it to them and if they want you they will call me." He said. "And if I get the role?" I asked. "Well if you get the role then you will come to LA with me and we'll figure out where you would stay and then we'll start shooting and hopefully you will become a regular character." My head started spinning. That seemed so far away. But what if it happened? We started my audition video and it was actually pretty easy. It felt like I could say anything as if I really meant it. It all went by fast until the last question and I had the perfect answer. "Final question. Why do you think that you should get this role?" He asked. "Honestly. I don't. I'd bet my life that there are a million other girls out there who want this role way more than me. Girls who have worked their entire lives for something like this, and here I am. A girl who has never acted in my entire life! A waitress from Maine! I really don't care if I get it or not! But let me tell you something, if you want fresh talent, if you want someone different, then look no further. Thank you for your consideration." I said sarcastically. The camera went off and jace just stared at me. "What?" I asked. "You were freaking amazing! You are perfect! Uh for the role, I mean." I blushed hard. "Ha thanks." And then we just stood there for a minuet. Finally I broke the silence. "So what do we do now?" I asked. "Oh! Uh I have to send them the video for them to decide. I imagine that we'll get a pretty fast response!" He smiled a gorgeous smile and for a second I froze. Stop it Christine! This is strictly business! You are not allowed to have a crush on a guy you barely met! "There! I sent it!" He said and sat down. "Great! How long do you think it will take?" I asked. "A couple of hours probably." He said. "Well do you want to hang out while we wait?" I asked. "Yeah sure sounds great!" He said. We had some food from the kitchen and just talked. We went on a walk and just talked. After a few hours it seemed like we had been friends for a few years. I think that I may have just made a good friend. Friend? Yes friend. No more. Later we wound up back at the restaurant when Jaces phone buzzed. "It's the producers." He said. He picked up the phone and made some um-hums and then hung up. "So?" I asked. He smiled.
