"Jimin, you know I love you right?" Jennie murmured, as her long nails, the black paint chipping off, gently brushed Jimin's fluffy, blonde hair. The said boy shifted his head to face Jennie, who was looking down at her in seriousness.
"Yes of course, Jen," he reassured her lover, sensing the tension. He got up, and sat beside her against the tree, and put his arm around her slender shoulders.
"Why do you ask?"
An audible sigh escape her lips as Jennie leaned her head against the tree. She looked up to see the stars twinkling in the dark night sky, streaks of clouds visible. They were surrounded by dark tree trunks, clumps of bushes as they sat under the canopy of thick leaves. She could see the bright moon peeking through the leaves as they rustled in the wind. She felt him take her palm, which had been resting on the soft moss, into his own hand and rub soothing circles with his thumb.
She was going to miss this.
It was two a.m. at night, the time Jennie, a fallen angel and Jimin, a half-angel would secretly meet up and spend their time together. They both were from rival schools, Jennie from the school of "abominable creatures" and Jimin from the school of angels.
Both schools only met once a year for the anniversary as they were formed the same day, but that's all it took for the both of them to fall for each other.
The "abominable creatures" like witches, vampires, etc, were looked down upon, hated, detested and considered low filthy beings.
But Jimin never understood why. To him, Jennie was gorgeous. With her cherry tinted lips, sharp cat eyes which almost always had black eyeliner and eyeshadow on them. Her high cheekbones and defined jawline, as well as straight black hair that went just below her shoulders.
She was always donned in a black cloak, probably part of their school uniform. But he knew how unfairly Jennie and others were treated. He had seen Jennie go without food for a week as punishment, and been forced to clean the toilets until her hands blistered for minor mistakes.
He knew, all the tumoil she had been forced through go to. After all, he was the one who snuck her food at the 3 a.m. at night when she forced to go days without any. He was the one who carried her weak and exhausted body, cradling her in his lap as he fed her the snacks he managed snuggle away. He was the one who would tenderly apply antiseptic to her bruised and blistered hands, caressing them gently and kissing them softly.
But Jennie? She was a sweet soul. She didn't deserve to suffer for something her parents did. But here she was.
Jimin brushed his thoughts away and looked at his lover's worried face, "Jen, what's wrong?" he repeated.
Jennie looked at the blonde, and he was shocked to see her eyes glistening under the moonlight.
"They know, jagi-ya," she whispered, her voice coming out, defeated, "They found out."
For a minute, only crickets could be heard.
"-H-how?" his voice broke down in a painful crack.
"I... I don't know," she trailed off, voice becoming hoarse lest and didn't open her mouth after, lest she broke down, weeping.
Jennie squeezed Jimin's hand in an attempt to comfort the both of them and smiled weakly.
"They're going to torture me... both schools aren't even allowed to befriend the other, least of all love."
