possible tw // mention of suicide (reference to romeo and juliet's deaths)

Jennie glared at Taehyung's back furiously, burning holes through the top of his head as he continued his presentation, unaware.

How could anyone in this class tolerate the complete bullshit he was spouting? He was clearly delirious. Romeo and Juliet obviously loved each other. Why else would they die for the other? He can't possibly be saying love was a waste of time?

To Jennie's absolute shock, most students were agreeing with him, nodding their heads. The brunette was about to explode. Was she really stuck in a class full of stupid morons with no idea of love whatsoever?

They clearly had no life.

She straightened her back, determined, as she waited patiently - or, not - for the dumb blondie in front of her to finish his dumb speech.

When he concluded with exaggerated flourish, Jennie was the only one who didn't clap. Clutching her copy of Romeo and Juliet tightly in her hands, she willed the teacher to hurry up and leave the ground open to questions.

"Okay, class, any questions for Mr. Kim?"

Jennie's hand shot up before the question even left her mouth completely. Mrs Jung looked mildly taken aback at her raised hand, probably because she never bothered to speak up in class unless forced.

"Yes, Jennie?"

The brunette cleared her throat, standing up to face Taehyung. She still looked small, but at least she wasn't eye level with his ass now.

Looking directly into his eyes without any signs of wavering, she spoke.

"Why would you say that love ruined the lives of Romeo and Juliet when it clearly made it better?"

Taehyung scoffed incredulously, "Made it better? By what? Having them kill themselves?"

The girl clenched her jaw, deciding to approach from a different angle, "Now, look, Romeo and Juliet clearly had close to no life before they met at each other. They added vibrance to the other's life. Now take away that only source of happiness, and you leave them a shell of the people they were. And you call that living?"

By this time, he had angled his body to completely face Jennie, "They were deluding themselves, which you, a little sunshine, wouldn't understand."

Jennie bit back an offended, "Yah!" choosing to pull her lower lip in between her teeth instead.

"They fell in love looking at each other! Who even does that? Clearly that shows they're so desperate for love they are-"

"Aha!" She grinned triumphantly, "Exactly. They both are that desperate, but what makes them like that? Their lack of a life before this moment, that's what!"

Jennie paused for a moment to catch her breath, but Taehyung chose that moment to butt in, "And so? It doesn't change the fact they're deluding not only themselves but also the other. Did you really think they fell in love just like that? That's logically impossible, use your brain-"

"You're the one not using your brain! That is, if you have one, you moro-" she didn't need to turn around to see her teacher's warning glare, and nervously gulped, exhaling, "The point is, Romeo and Juliet's lives were each other. That's why the intense love. Of course you wouldn't understand, heart of steel," she chastised reproachfully.

He scoffed, "They had their whole lives in front of them, and you believe in them letting that go for love?" he spat the word is so much disgust, it was insulting.

"Yes. How many times must I tell you, you di- nevermind, that they are each other's lives?" she exploded, face warm and flushed. "Clearly you don't know how love works if you can't grasp that simple concept!"

"As if you know how it does!" he yelled back, well past his level of patience, "You act like you've a boyfriend you would sacrifice it all for!"

Maybe Taehyung wanted to be that boy. His stubborn 'heart of steel' would never admit it, though.

"Please!" she scoffed, throwing her hands up exasperatedly, "At least I know that feeling of euphoria when you kiss someone you love! Don't pretend you don't!"

Taehyung knew very well what Jennie was referring to. That one drunk kiss, last year, December 27. How could he forget? He gulped nervously, she was cornering him.

Mrs Jung stared at the both, mouth agape. She hadn't seen that twist coming.

"I don't!" he screamed, "You think I'm a stupid fool like you to delude myself with surreal fantasies-"

"Hell, who hurt you?" she screamed back, "This is not delusion, this is! The! Truth!" she punched the table with her finger with every point, driving her point home.

"Really? Why don't you prove it? It's not a fact unless it's proven, right?" he provoked, standing in front of her, seemingly laidback.

Staring at the relaxed blondie in front of her, half of his uniform out, hands tucked in pockets, paint splatters covering his pants.

And that easy smirk. Oh, did it aggravate her.

She balled her fists, reducing the gap in between them, "You say you want me to prove it to you?"

"Yes."

"Is that a challenge?" she bit harshly.

He smiled, "Yes."

"Yah!" she burst again, "So you're saying, if I kiss you right here, right now, you won't feel anything?!"

Jennie's cheeks were rosy and flushed from the yelling, her eyes holding the fierceness that Taehyung always endeared. As he looked into her unblinking her cat eyes, and registered her words, he staggered back lightly, a heavy breath leaving his parted lips, "W-what?"

"What?" she mocked, "Don't you want proof?"

It only took a moment for the blonde to get back his balance, "Fine."

"Fine?"

"Fine!" he yelled.

"Fine!"

"ENOUGH!"

The two looked at Mrs Jung, fiery red automatically climbing their necks to their cheeks and immediately took a step back away from each other.

An amused smile was splayed along her lips, but as fast as it came, it went that quick.

"Although debates are encouraged in literature, ones ending in public displays of affection are definitely not."

Jennie looked down at her table, as she heard the class snicker. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Taehyung do the same.

That made her smile.

He did get flustered.

"You may continue after school," she dismissed, arousing laughter from the class.

Jennie blushed harder but didn't dare look at Taehyung this time. She didn't dare even make eye contact with any part of his body for the rest of the day.

She couldn't believe she had done that.

Needless to say, they didn't continue after school.
