Jennie sighed softly, leaning her head against her palms as she sat on the bench. It was one a.m., and Taehyung had promised he would meet her at twelve a.m. She shivered, hugging his- no, hers- hoodie tighter. She pulled the hood over her head harshly, trying to warm the freezing tips of her ears as her cold fingers unlocked her phone, yearning for a notification from Taehyung.

Disappointment soared in her heart, and she clicked off her phone. It had been a good few months since they'd met, face to face. He had always been busy with his solo preparations and activities, and now with group. She understood, she truly did, but that didn't mean she didn't miss him.

It had been three weeks since their comeback, and he had promised to meet her. She was willing for any timing, and agreed for the night. They were supposed to meet yesterday, and the day before that, but things just didn't work out. He said he ended too late and wouldn't be able to make it at ten. So, twelve was agreed on, although he sounded reluctant as it was dangerous for her.

Jennie denied that, and said she would wait near the 24-hour 7-11 shop so she would be safe.

And now it was one a.m. The brunette bit down her disappointment, it wasn't his fault. She just really thought he would be able to make it.

Ten more minutes, she told herself, like she had been for the past half an hour.

Suddenly, her phone vibrated in her hand, and she visibly flinched, before her heart thumped on excitement. She immediately accepted the call, a smile spreading onto her face when she saw it was from her boyfriend.

"Hi, jagi," she greeted him cheerfully, previous gloom evaporating.

She heard shuffling on the other side, before Taehyung's deep voice came through, "Jennie-ah."

She immediately detected how his voice was guilt ridden, and her heart dropped to the bottom of stomach.

"You can't make it?" she stated, rather than asked, glumly.

"Yeah. Sorry, nini-ah."

"It's alright," Jennie tried to erase the sadness in her tone, "Tomorrow?"

He hesitated, "Uh..."

"I could... I could go to your dorm maybe? I don't mind coming now, either. I can just-"

"It's dangerous, Jen," he said softly, the tiredness evident in his voice, and she immediately felt guilty for bugging him.

"Then... tomorrow?"

"We'll have to see," he murmured, "We have a rehearsal tomorrow and the dorm might make you uncomfortable-"

"It won't," she assured him quickly, but she only got back a sigh.

"We'll discuss this tomorrow, alright, Jen?"

Jennie forced herself to just comply, knowing she was being selfish by forcing him to talk more when he clearly needed sleep, "Yeah, alright."

"Take care, alright? I'm sorry I couldn't make it today. I really am."

The guilt in his voice made Jennie feel even more emotional, and she felt the familiar prick of hot tears at the back of her eyes.

"It's alright, really," she replied, hoping he didn't hear her voice waver.

The pause told her otherwise.

"You didn't wait long, right? I told you to not wait for more than ten. You're back at the dorm?"

The brunette glanced at the neon 7-11 sign, "Yeah. I am."

She didn't want him to worry.

"I swear I heard a car when you picked up."

"I'm at the dorm, Tae," she forced a chuckle, "Your exhuastion is making you imagine things."

"Alright."

"Yeah."

"Bye, jagi."

"Bye. I love you," she whispered, her voice wavering. Her glossy eyes stared at the blurry traffic light, only worsening, when he hung up before he replied back.

She knew he just hung up before registering what she said, but it still hurt.

Jennie sighed, looking up into the sky and clenched her fists. Blinking her eyes furiously, she did so until her vision cleared. She took a deep breath, and forced a smile onto her face.

Then, she walked back to her dorm.

"So, y'all didn't meet again, huh?" Jisoo greeted the sleep deprived younger as she walked into the kitchen in her pyjamas the next morning, her hair a bird's nest.

The brunette turned lethargically to face her unnie, sitting glumly on one of the kitchen stools.

"Yeah."

"Why don't you go over to his dorm?" she asked, scooping out some spaghetti onto a place, and gave it to Jennie.

"I don't think he wants me over."

"Now, don't say it like that."

Jisoo sat across Jennie, watching her play with her food.

"He just sighed when I asked him."

"It's comeback period. He probably just wants his alone time. Jinyoung was also like that and told me so."

"I know, I just..."

"Miss him," the older finished.

"Yeah."

Jisoo gave her a sympathetic smile, "C'mon love, just a week or two more then he will be free."

"No, he's going to America to promote their album and his single there. If it's not these two weeks, then I won't see him for a good another two months."

The raven-haired girl's mouth formed an 'o'.

"Well, who asked you to date a member of the world's biggest boy group?"

Jennie stopped chewing mid-way, and sighed dramatically, "Right? What was I thinking?"

"At least you won't have to worry about you being busy. We won't have another comeback for a good three months or so."

The girl chucked an olive at her, a hint of a smile on her lips, "Shut up, unnie. Don't remind of our lack of songs."

Jisoo just smiled, glad her spirits were lifted, albeit slightly.

"Never."
