Seth was shocked to hear that. Emy was his best friend and he knew her quite well. She was always a compassionate and polite girl. Her abrupt change was a lot for Seth to take in. He lost his brother and Nancy, who was like his own mother. So it was really tough for him to accept the fact that his best friend had turned into a monster by switching off her humanity.

Seth dropped himself onto the bed. He covered his face with his palms and sobbed loudly.

Kate sat beside him and rested her hand on his shoulder to comfort him.

"Why does everyone I love leave me?" Seth asked Kate, crying.

"She is not herself right now, Seth. But I promise she will be back to herself soon. I will find a way." She promised.

"Kate, you are the only person whom I have to say my own now. Please, don't ever leave my side." He begged.

Kate hugged him right. Tears gushed down her eyes.

"Don't worry dear, I will never leave your side." She assured him.

Emy went to James's room. She opened his cupboard and found his clothes. She took one of his shirts and sniffed it. Tears welled up in her eyes as his scent, which remained in them, pierced through her nostrils. But she batted them away and prevented the tears from overflowing the border of her eyes.

His memories tormented her. The days they spent together was recalled in her mind. Their first meet...her confession...their first kiss...the day they realized they were gonna be parents...their marriage...honeymoon...and finally his death. Everything replayed in her mind.

Suddenly her eyes betrayed her. Every ounce of energy she used to prevent her tears went useless. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't change. Even with her humanity off, her love for her dear James never faded. It remained the same.

She patted her belly. The final gift from him was inside her. If it were not for her daughter, she would have killed herself to join James. But, she had got to live for her. She needed to protect her. James would want her to do that.

Her necessary things were moved into James's room from her apartment. Kate knew that Emy would have a hard time if she lived alone.

Emy took out the bag in which her makeup and jewellery were kept. Suddenly, her eyes met a small box. Her eyes brightened with delight. She knew the perfect way to escape her pain.

She opened the box to see the klairostone ring which was gifted by Jacob at her wedding.

She wore the ring and did light makeup and walked to the front door.

"Where do you think you are going?" She heard a voice.

It was Kate.

"I was gonna take a walk. I am done staying inside." Emy retorted.

"Are you insane? You are a vampire now. You will die in the sun - "

Emy revealed the ring she wore. Kate was taken aback.

"It was very thoughtful of your ex to present me such an essential gift." Emy sneered.

"Emy, you have just transformed. It's too dangerous. You are gonna kill people." Kate stated.

Emy raised her eyebrows and stared at Kate in an annoyed manner.

"Are you suggesting that I should care for those weaklings?" She taunted.

Kate was furious. She was trying her best to keep up with Emy and was trying hard to convince her.

"Emy, you were the same weakling once. But I never took advantage of you." Kate spat.
