Chapter:16

The night arrived. She was still shattered from what Calista did to her.

She reminisced about the days she spent with James. Tears streamed down her eyes continuously. All of a sudden, she felt some massive energy forming inside her. The next thing she realized was that she let the curtain on fire. She got out of her bed and pulled down those curtains. She watched the fire burning the piece of cloth finally turning it into ashes.

Emy was petrified to know what her powers can do. She sat on the bed and stared at the burnt curtain.

"I gotta learn some spells." She thought.

A few days later.

"Emy? Are you on a diet or something?" Calista asked in an agitated tone.

"What do you want, Calista?" Emy questioned back.

"I heard you are moving your days by consuming limited drops of blood a day. Just wanna make sure if that was true." She replied in the monotone.

Emy remained silent.

"You gotta feed, Emy. Do it at least for your baby." Calista stated.

"Why are you suddenly so thoughtful about me and my baby?" Emy asked, surprised.

"Look, I am really sorry for everything I have done to you. But what I did the other day was a bit too extreme. The look I saw on your face - I just can't forget it. I - I can't forgive myself, Emy." She broke out into tears.

Emy couldn't believe her eyes. The way Calista cried showed how much she was broken from within.

"I don't understand. Compared to everything you had done to me, this shouldn't be a big deal for you. Then why the hell are you acting like this? Are you out of your mind or something?" Emy asked unable to understand her intention.

"The look you had on your face then...it reminded me of myself."

Emy looked at her questioningly.

"I too had someone whom I loved very deeply. And when someone else took him away from me, I had that same expression on my face." She answered.

Emy's face softened. She watched at the pain that was sketched clearly on Calista's face.

"What happened to him?" Emy asked.

"Well... Let me start from the beginning." She let out a huge sigh and commenced,

Calista's POV.

I was born as a half-vampire and half-witch and I never had a mother or a father to take care of me. My father left me in the hands of his sister, Rose when I was just three days old. My Aunt too was a witch and her whole witch community was against her for looking after me. But she never cared about them.

I grew up with her. She taught me little spells that never took too much of my energy. She cooked me delicious foods and gave me animal blood once a day. She sang a lot of songs to me, she read me various storybooks. I was so happy that I never felt the need of my parents.

But everything turned upside down when her husband, William came back. He had once left her to live with another woman. But when he came back my Aunt welcomed him again with open arms. She thought that he realized his mistake and everything was gonna be like before.

But she was wrong. He murdered her for her wealth and framed it on me.

Everyone believed him since I was their enemy. They hated me for being a half-vampire.

My uncle handcuffed me with magic cuffs that prevented me from doing magic and locked me in the cellars. He beat me whenever he wanted to. Though I was a vampire, I could never fight him back or stop him as I wasn't fed enough blood. He only fed me once a week and that too just two drops of blood. I was always thirsty and weak.

But, like in every story, there was someone to change my destiny too. My prince, my saviour - Theon.

He was William's servant. One day he witnessed William beating me. He felt sympathy for me. Later that night, he came to the cellar after William slept. At first, I thought he had a bad intention. But, to my surprise, he pulled down his collar and offered his neck for me to feed.

I was surprised. But I was so thirsty that I never even warned him I was gonna sank my fangs into his neck.

When my thirst was quenched, I looked at his face and asked,

"Why are you helping me?"

"The way William treats me is hell. And I know you are treated worse." He answered.

After that day, he came to visit me often. Theon was several years older than me. He was tall and had raven black hair that curled at his shoulders. He was so pale from malnutrition.

Soon, we became friends. He knew I was a half-vampire and that I was dangerous. But he never cared about that. He brought me delicious foods secretly and offered his blood to satisfy my thirst. He stole books on spells from William and gave them to me to learn the spells.

One day, he came to me with a bowl of goat's blood. That was my favourite since my Aunt used to feed me the same. I drunk it up as soon as he handed the bowl to me.

Suddenly, I noticed him laughing uncontrollably.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing." He replied and resumed his laughter.

"Why are you laughing?" I enquired.

"Your face - it's full of blood." He answered in between his uncontrollable laughter.

I felt embarrassed and wiped it off with the back of my hands.

"Oh my God! This is so hilarious". He laughed again as I only spread them to more areas. He took out his handkerchief and wiped my face.

I stared into his eyes. I felt a bit uneasy by his sudden gesture. My usually slow beating heart started to beat at a faster pace. I felt my cheeks burning. I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked down unable to stop blushing.

I realised that I was in love with him. But I didn't want to break the friendship we had. So I kept quiet.

But I was so lucky. Because he felt the same way too. He held up my face and gazed into my eyes.

I felt like I would melt from his gaze. It was so intense. And suddenly, he kissed me. I felt my blood warming up my entire body. I couldn't believe that.

After pulling away from his kiss, he stared into my eyes. I was not yet ready to face him. So I pulled him in for a hug which was reciprocated by him.

That was the start... Of my happiness...Of peace...Of love...

Hey guys...

I am so sorry for the late updates...I was kinda having writer's block. Plus I had my internal exams... Everything was messing up my life... And now I am back with my full energy...I guess I will update often from now on.

Anyways...How was this chapter? I don't know if I made this up to your expectations. Sorry if I didn't.
