ANDREA POV
I found Isabella before she left with an officer for a check up because she was so shaken up.
"Can I go with her?" I pleaded.
"Ma'am, calm down. She's fine, and we need her to be alone for this. She will be sent to her dorm later." They exited the building with students and the rest of us were left standing in the assembly hall. Sitting on the nearest chair, I put my face into my hands. What even happened today?
"You okay, Ramos?" Devyn is standing over me I remove my hands to look up at her. There's not even a bead of sweat on her face. Her hair is still the same and she still looks put together, while I looked like a mess. She was the definition of perfect. My eyes trailed to her arm that was scratched. Maybe nothing was perfect after all.
"I should be asking you." I say gesturing to the arm.
"I'm okay. Just a scratch, I've seen worse."
"I bet you have." Devyn takes a seat right next to me.
"You might wanna wrap that up though."
"Yeah I'll get to it. I just wanted to apologize to you."
"You're forgiven."
She lets out a small chuckle. "What a day, right?"
"What even was this all about?"
"They think they're a revolutionary group, fighting for something. I don't know. I'm gonna have to talk to my father about it."
"Hmmm."
"Well, you should get some rest, it's been a long day."
"Yeah, I'm gonna head over to my dorm."
"Do you want me to walk you there?"
"I mean- well sure." We both got up and walked out. The sun was out and there were lines of cars that belonged to the guard. Making our way through the different crowds, we finally made it on the sidewalk.
"So, Ramos, tell me a little about yourself."
"I'm Andrea."
"Yeah Ramos, I know. But where did you come from? What do you like to do?"
"Suddenly you care?"
"I'm just making small talk."
"Well, we're not friends remember?"
"But we are teammates. And I kind of saved you today." We get into the elevator.
"You? saved me? Um no, I'm pretty sure it was the other way around." I scoffed.
"You're the one who wouldn't shut up," she says while taking a step towards me, and I took a step back simultaneously, hitting my back against the wall.
"Well you made me, didn't you?""That I did. So you see I did save you."
"We saved us." I say back to her. Now she's so close to me- she smelled expensive. My inner voice laughed at me, duh she's rich.
"I'm sorry for my behavior." She says suddenly while staring into my eyes. Heat starts to creep up to my cheeks and I can't figure out why.
"I said it was okay." The elevator gave a ding and my floor was here. The door slid open and I awkwardly slid out of the space between Devyn and the wall. I walked out and faced her again.
"Devyn?"
"Hmm?" She replied while looking for the next floor to press.
"You should smile more often. You're dimples are cute." I gave her a small smile as the elevator shut and I walked off to my dorm room.
