ANDREA POV
Getting to finally walk out of school was the best part of my day. I waited by the red flagpole for Isabella. She has been my best friend since we were babies.
"Boo!"
"I think of the devil, and she appears."
"At your service, my lady." She says with a playful wink. We start walking down the street when she asks me about her outfit.
"You didn't tell me if it looked good."
"You look good. You always look good in anything, Bella."
"Andy are you okay?"
"What? Why? Yeah I am. And I told you to stop using that nickname, especially here it's embarrassing."
"Nothing, you just complimented me so I thought something was wrong. And no way. You're Andy to me and will always be."
"Oh shut up."
We make our way towards the Arden girl's dorm building. After getting through security by showing our cards, we got on the elevator. I took a moment to observe its walls. They were so shiny that I could see my reflection in them. My jean jacket, t-shirt, and jeans look boring compared to Bella's skirt, top, and heels.
"What went through your head when we you chose to wear heels to school?"
"Andy, you wouldn't know. I'm telling you, we should totally throw out your wardrobe and get you new clothes."
"Not happening."
"hmph. Oh well. You're missing out. Don't you want a cute Arden boy to fall for you?"
"Fall for me? Because of the clothes I wear? Sounds stupid."
"Oh please. That's not what I meant, but the way you present yourself does affect others and their view of you."
"And that is precisely why I don't care."
"God Andy. All I'm saying is that you're drop dead gorgeous. And if you upped your fashion sense, you'd have everyone at Arden all over you."
"Why don't I leave that to you?"
We enter the fourteenth floor finding our room. Our room is bigger than the apartment I lived in before this scholarship. I occupied the right while Bella took over the left. I was thankful that these room were colossal in size, this way I could still be alone when I wanted.
I spent most of my life in District 5. I grew up with survival skills because out there, it's nothing compared to the other Districts. There's orphans who run the streets, poverty stricken neighborhoods, and pretty much everyone who the government has no use of. Orien is a great country only to those who make it to the top of the food chain, otherwise it's very hard to get by. That's why I was caught by surprise when there were Arden representatives at my apartment one day, saying I won a spot. Everyone in the district said I got lucky, but luck hasn't gotten me anywhere in life. I know there's something behind this decision, but I just don't know what yet.
