Also it is on the shorter side. Also there's no smut.
Every day was the same. Get up. Morning routine. Get dressed. Got to work. Come home. Normani was young but boring. She was a homebody who liked to play video games, watch Netflix, Hulu and the old shows on Disney+. She was shy and didn't make new friends easily. All her friends she'd known since high school and college. She loved her job as dance instructor. Normani was fortunate enough to land her dream job right out of college. She'd been working at INDX for five years and didn't see herself moving from the studio. Her ambition did push her to want to eventually run the studio. Recently she had been promoted to manager of the intermediate classes but she taught her little babies too. She attributed her success to her drive to succeed. Growing up she didn't have much. So when she was awarded a scholarship to SoCal school of the arts she went for it and never looked back.
Many didn't understand Norman and she was perfectly okay with that. She didn't like labels but if she identified with any of them it would be pansexual. Her last relationship was with a transgendered male (ftm). That was interesting. While Jaron was a good person she was confused by his decision to become a male. He had top surgery but refused to follow through with phalloplasty surgery. They had many talks about it and Jaron always said he'd rather continue to use a fake dick then actually getting one. They broke up but it had nothing to do with Jaron not wanting the surgery. Their relationship had just run its course and they had grown apart. After they broke up Normani did some research of her own and came to understand Jaron's refusal. The statistics related to the surgery were crazy. More than fifty percent of the surgeries ended up with the patients having complications. That number alone didn't sit right with her.
Since Jaron Normani hadn't been in a relationship. That was almost two years ago and when they broke up they stayed friends. Normani definitely missed how Jaron used to be all in her guts. But they just didn't work. Normani was woman enough to admit that.
Today she decided to take off and see where her day went. She ended up at a little quaint coffee shop whose coffee in Normani's opinion was better than Starbucks any day. It was a bright summer day and she wanted her coffee kick without the heat factor, so she ordered a mocha mint frappe. Once her name was called and picked up her order she chose a table by the window and started to people watch. One woman caught her eye, she was tall, light-skinned and had legs for days. Normani couldn't see her facial features as a large pair of sunglasses covered the woman's face. Her long jumbo box braids blew along with the slight wind of the day. Normani noticed that she was making her way into the coffee shop. When she took the glasses off her face Normani couldn't help but stare. She was model beautiful with an angled jaw line, strong chin and rounded face. Her eyes were the color of a mild blended coffee. Brown but not the normal dark brown her eyes were lighter but not hazel. The woman noticed Normani staring and smiled and waved at her.
The woman had immediately noticed Normani when she walked into the coffee shop. Who could ignore the beautiful brown skinned woman sitting alone on the phone. Normani possessed the beautifully melanated skin much like Zendaya's father that she sometimes wished she had. Normani had a heart shaped face with beautiful slanted eyes, thick eyebrows and plump lips straight from the ancestors. When Zendaya saw her, Brown Skin Girl immediately started to loop in her head. Normani was indeed a beautiful melanated woman with features many wanted to possess. Zendaya looked back at Normani until her order was called before leaving she waved at Normani. Normani waved back.
A month later the two had another run in this time in the bookstore. Although you could read on whatever device you possessed for Zendaya there was something about having a physical book in her hands. The sound of turning pages and seeing the words printed on paper drew Zendaya in. On this particular day Zendaya was searching for a book about Mali that a friend had recommended. She always wanted to learn about her history and roots of the people she came from. So any book that explains the rise of civilization on the mother continent she was interested in. When she finally got to the section the worker had directed her too she immediately began scanning the shelves for her book. Not really paying attention to where she was going as she moved she bumped into someone. Turning around she was met with the beauty from the coffee shop. She couldn't forget her face as it had been haunting her dreams for the last month.
