Beatrice

I am here sitting through yet another plane ride. But I am not alone this time, Luke, Emily, Drake and Chelsea sit near me.

I am so thankful for my friends. I hope that one day, I'd be able to return the favor.

The thing is, I want to just get over with this. I want to see him. The distance set apart us, it made me realize the pain I felt when i was without him.

Dramatic, I know. But I was never a tough girl. Sorry mom, your dreams of me becoming like Tris isn't gonna happen. Then again, I wish I could be like her.

I am a forgetful person. But I remember so much of me and Logan. I remember the butterflies we used to chase. That one night we snuck out together. Oh, I remember it all so clearly.

Logan told me to be cautious, we could never be caught. If we were caught, Paradise is gone forever. He told me, he wanted to show me something. I got up around 9:00 PM, an hour past my bedtime, which Is also Rebecca's bedtime.

I get ready to meet with Logan, I so desperately tried to tame my unruly hair, but it is to no avail. Never mind the hair, I wear a wig for goodness sake!

I pinned a part of my hair and stared at the mirror. This is as good as it's gonna get. I put pillows under my blanket to make it look like I was sleeping underneath my blanket.

I remember my teacher saying that sleeping with a blanket over your head could kill brain cells. Rebecca wouldn't know that anyways.

Times like this, I wish mommy was here with me. I wish I could tell her all about Logan. She'd love him. Then we'd all have a picnic in Paradise. Too bad I can only dream of it happening.

I didn't bother to change out of my nightgown. I have to come back and put it on anyways. I walked slowly to the door, opened it, and walked out of my room. I tiptoed across Rebecca's door and down the stairs. I heard someone in the kitchen.

It might be a robber! I quickly hid in a closet door. Then I saw it was Josh, stealing a few cookies and walking up to his room. When I heard the sound of the door locking, I went for the front door.

When I finally got out, i breathed a sigh of relief. I walked into the forest. It was dark, I was afraid and cold. At some point, I heard noises and footsteps. I wanted to run back to the house. No. Logan is here, and I want to see him.

I took a few turns and finally, I saw Paradise. I wanted, so badly, to jump up and down in glee. But something was missing. Logan. I checked the time, it was 9:32. 2 minutes past our supposed time of meeting.

Calm down, Beatrice, he will come. And he did. He walked slowly toward me and tapped my shoulder. A ridiculous grin on his face.

I punched his shoulder, "You're late." I said with a smirk. He smiled apologetically. I rolled my eyes.

We walked around and I talked about how Rebecca was getting meaner and meaner. And he talked about how he wanted to see the world. He told me stories about different places and people.

We sat down on a rock, near the lake. Then it happened. A million fireflies appeared, all at once. It was breathtaking. I watched as they blinked. So this is what he wanted to show me.

By day, Paradise is a beautiful garden of everything good; by night, it is even more beautiful and breathtaking. The reflection of the moon on the water. The fireflies, dancing around the lake. The stars, clearly seen on the night's sky.
