This could be one of the craziest and most insane moments of my life, ever. But I'll tell you the blurb of what happened first, before I get to the crazy.
Logan and I walked together, the paths that led to the magical lake, of which we called Paradise. We approached and we felt as if we were watched.
"I feel as though we are being watched." Logan whispered as I nodded vigorously, subtle.
"What do you do?" I whispered back, scared of the ears that may be listening in our conversation.
"Act normal." He said as he skipped towards Paradise, instead of walking.
Way to act normal.
I smiled after him. He looked like a bunny. What a weirdo. But well, this is why I love him. I followed him, without the bunny hops.
I wanted to look around to see, who it may be that followed us? What could be their business with us? Could they be murderers? I hope not.
As you see, we were paranoid. Every sound made was making us turn back and sometimes flinch, but we continued on. We walked and walked and walked until we reached the tree, the rock, and then finally, Paradise.
When we walked inside, I felt something different, something out of place. Someone has been here.
"Are you thinking of what I'm thinking?" I asked Logan as we held each other's gaze.
"Food?" He answered. Face-palm.
"No!" I shook my head at him, "Look around! Something is out of place! Someone's been here." I told him and whispered the last part. He looked around, and then realization struck him.
"You're right. Something is wrong. I can't quite tell what, but I know there's something wrong." He said.
I sighed in relief. I thought I was the only one thinking too paranoid.
We tried to search for.. I wasn't quite sure what we were searching for. Maybe it was a person, or a thing, or a clue. It was time to pull my out my inner Sherlock Holmes. You hear that, Benedict Cumberbatch? I can be Sherlock Holmes!
We searched everywhere; literally everywhere.
At some point, I was beginning to forget why we came here the first place. But at that point, I realized I never needed confirmation on whether or not our Paradise was magic. I knew there was something magical about it the first time I came here. How could something so beautiful, something so majestic, something that made us meet, pop up just when I needed it. Now tell me, that isn't magic.
Logan and I decided, coming here was a waste but if it were for the last time in a long while, then we'd stay longer. We stayed until dark, and even then we didn't want to leave.
"Do you remember the time we first met?" he asked me.
I nodded. How could I ever forget. That moment, made me feel like there was purpose in my life. It made me feel different. It made me different. And it made everything bearable.
"You know, even after.. I mean, even in New York I found myself coming back to that memory. It was the best memory I had of San Francisco. And never did I ever forget it: the girl who almost fell into the lake, the girl who became my best friend.." " He said smiling at me. "The girl who changed my life."
He was keen on not mentioning him leaving me here. I wanted to push him to tell me. I wanted to hear the words as to why he left me here. If he cared so much, why leave? Though these thoughts were the ones that entered my brain, I couldn't help but feel giddy over his words. Words can be deceiving, but somehow I knew he was telling the truth. I wanted to ask him why he left me, but I didn't want to ruin the moment.
