Zylina's Point of View
My eyes fluttered, and I found myself dazley staring at a white ceiling. As I took a breath in I sniffed the strange smell of the Hospital's air. My head was aching, and I was weary; it wasn't until a few moments later when everything came back to me, hitting me like a speeding truck.
It all flashed in my mind; the sound of the ear-bursting shots, Rory getting shot and passing out in my arms, me calling 9-1-1, the ambulance and police showing up, Rory and me being put into the vehicle, me about to break down, but for some reason I passed out.
Did they give me a sedative, or did I just pass out? I slowly pushed myself up, groaning at my aching body. Once I was fully sat up, I relaxed against the headboard, and blinked a few times. Questions raced in my mind; where was Rory? Would he die from the wound? Does the Academy know where we are? I would never admit it, but I was terrified for Rory's safety.
A nurse entered the room, and she gave me a bright smile. "You feeling okay, sweetheart?" she asked. I hesitated for a moment before nodding, and answering, "I'm tired, though." My voice was raspy, and my throat felt like I hadn't drank in a week.
"That was the sedative, you were having a panic attack, and your heart was beating quite fast." the nurse answered. I leaned my head against the wall, and sighed; I then perked up and asked, "What about Rory?" The nurse looked at me, and answered, "Rory Woods?" I nodded quickly, and waited for an answer about Rory's condition.
"He's still unconscious, a bullet lunged into the top of his shoulder blade, and we had to do surgery to get it out." she explained to me. "Will he live?" I asked.
"Yes, he will, but we don't know when he's going to wake up or how bad the bone was damaged." the nurse answered. I sighed, and slowly nodded; out of the corner of my eye, I saw her come to me and felt her pat my shoulder. "Get some rest, hun. Your family will be here soon." she told me. Rory's parents were coming?
The nurse started to walk out, but I suddenly said, "Wait! C...Can I see him?" The nurse stopped, looked at me, turned to some sort of file, and then nodded. A smile crossed my face when I heard I could see Rory, and I followed the nurse out of the room.
