Vaako stood within his chambers. Servants placed his armor over his black and grey tunic. The battle for the planet was long and hard, but they had defeated the world's military without much struggle. There were hardly any casualties, however, the Necropolis ship had been struck. It was a mishap, but it had caused little to no damage.
His servants placed his horned helmet over his head. Taking a deep breath, the Lord Marshal stepped out of his chambers and walked to Necropolis, where all the prisoners laid. Slowly, he stepped into the massive room. The people looked over at him in fear, and anger. He scanned the room, then he made his way toward the center of the room. His wife, Dame Vaako, stood within the cleared center, with you sitting on the ground at her feet. Vaako looked at you, then at the chain that was attached to your collar, which Dame Vaako held, and he felt a pain shoot through him.
His wife obviously wanted to use you as an example, but he wasn't going to allow it. He was becoming tired of his wife's plans. He hadn't even known that you had been taken from his chamber's spare room. You looked as if you had been beaten, and that angered him greatly. With a growl, he slowly walked toward his wife, and through his helmet, he gave his wife a mean look.
"Why is she here," he hissed. His wife chuckled and handed him the chain.
"When the ship was hit, the lock to her room unlatched, and she attempted to escape," she replied softly.
Looking down at you, he saw how fragile you truly looked. He could hear silent sobs coming from the prisoners, but those sounds didn't concern him. It was the sniffles from you that concerned him. Taking a deep breath, he looked back at his wife.
"Join the rest of the Legion," he stated. "I've got a speech to give."
Dame Vaako bowed her head, then she reached for the chain, but Vaako pulled it away from her.
"She stays with me," he stated.
Dame Vaako nodded, then she went to join the other Dames of Necromongers. After she'd left the clearing, Vaako related a little. Looking around, he took in the looks of all the prisoners within the room.
"You might be thinking you're all unlucky," he began. "You're wrong. You're some of the luckiest souls within this Verse."
He turned to look at his Necromonger Legion.
"You now have the chance to become like them. Warriors who feel no pain. Soldiers who will fight to head to another Verse, a pure Verse... Underverse," he stated, then he turned to the prisoners. "This Verse has been plagued by pain, and suffering. I'm offering to take it all away. You just need to do one thing... leave everything and join our faith."
The prisoners began to disagree, and one even stepped toward Vaako.
"We will not give up everything to join you. We have our own faiths, and we live with them peacefully," a female prisoner yelled. She took a step toward Vaako and you. Slowly, you turned your head away. You remember what the other Lord Marshal had done. Shaking with fear, you closed your eyes, preparing yourself for Vaako to kill the woman, however you didn't feel the chain move.
Opening your eyes, you looked up to see Vaako staring down at you. He's terrifying from this angle, you thought. You could feel an instinct within you. Being half Furyan, you were always seen as stronger, faster, and smarter. You were expected to be more of a leader and more dominant over others, but with Vaako staring down at you, you wanted nothing more than to submit to his power. You didn't know what to think or do.
Taking a deep breath, Vaako looked over at the prisoner, then he tilted his head in thought.
"Do you know what will happen should you not join," he asked.
The prisoners went silent as he spoke.
"You will be left on this planet, and when we leave, we will destroy it, and everything on it; leaving it a lifeless and desolate planet," he hissed softly. "I'd strongly suggest you bow down, and join us till Underverse come."
Some prisoners looked around at others, you knew that they knew the stories of the Necromongers destroying worlds. How their device was a tower, and it stayed on the planet that it destroyed. The stories of the worlds that were nothing, but death because of these very towers.
Suddenly, one prisoner bowed down to Vaako, and slowly, others followed that prisoner's lead. Only a small few still stood. After The Purifier took away those who chose to convert, a few Necromonger soldiers took the few that decided not to convert off of the ship. They prayed as they walked past you and Vaako, but you knew their fate was sealed. They'd be nothing but ash by tomorrow morning.
A tug on your chain, and Vaako led you through the halls of the ship. He took you to a hall that was completely empty, then he stopped and quickly pressed you against the wall. Your eyes widened, and you grabbed onto the armor on his arm. His arm rested against your chest, and he looked at you through his helmet. Sweat beaded on your forehead, and tears began to well up in your eyes."How did you escape," he asked.
A sob went through you, as you remembered what happened.
"I didn't escape," you whimpered. "A few Necromonger soldiers came into the room, and they beat me. I fought against them as best as I could, but they overpowered me. Then, your wife came in and put the chain on the collar, and she led me to Necropolis."
Taking a deep breath, Vaako slowly lowered his arm from your chest. He watched as you slowly lowered yourself to the ground against the wall. You shook, and cried. There was some blood seeping onto your shirt from a wound that laid underneath it, and Vaako squatted down in front of you. Slowly, he lifted your shirt and saw the wound. A cut that was deep, and probably needed stitches.
The tears were urging him, but seeing an actual wound on your fragile body was worse. Gently, he lifted you up into his arms. Fear shot through you, and you attempted to fight against his help, but he was far stronger than you were. He stood there until you quit fighting, then he carried you through the halls. There weren't many Necromongers in the halls, but none of them questioned what Vaako was doing.
Feeling exhausted, you slowly began to close your eyes. Sleep took you quickly
