Astrid looks at Hiccup. He smiles at her.
Astrid looks him over. Still same auburn messy hair. Same beautiful emerald eyes. Same face structure. She walks closer to him. She sees stubble. She looks down and gasps quietly.
Instead of two feet, Hiccup has one foot and one metal prosthetic in place of his left foot.
"Astrid?" She looks up at Hiccup. The two kids got off of Hiccup. They aren't by either their parents. Suddenly she came hear the pounding of tiny feet running up the stairs behind her.
She looks back at Hiccup. His eyes show concern and worry.
Astrid suddenly realizes that they are married and she isn't speaking to him. It must look weird for him. She smiles. Hiccup follows her expression. She hugs tight. He is surprised at first but hugs her back but not as tight.
"I take it you missed me..." He says with a lopsided grin that she has learned to love.
"Yes I did. Where were you again?" She asks out of curiosity and looks up at him.
"You asked me that ten times before I left." He chuckles at her.
"Well sorry if I'm curious." He laughs again.
"I was at my dad's house helping him with something."
"Right."
"I need to sit. My leg hurts." Astrid lets go of Hiccup. He grabs her hand and leads her to the living room. She can't help but notice that he has a slight limp.
They sit on the couch and Hiccup just lays his head back. Astrid sees a tiny pale line on his chin.
Things go fuzzy.
Astrid opens her eyes and sees that it is morning. She groans. She then remembers the dream.
Hiccup has one foot.
He has a scar and his chin.
What from?
How did he lose his left foot?
Was it possibly the car accident?
He was in surgery for 4 hours.
He uses crutches and doesn't use his left foot.
When He tried walking without them, Astrid say pain when he used his left foot.
It would explain everything.
Hiccup had lost his foot in the car accident.
That dreams she has been having aren't like other dreams because she can remember them clearly.
She has been having them every night.
She doesn't know the purpose of them but she has been starting to think different about Hiccup.
So much he is hiding.
So much he won't tell.
So much time it has been since he has said anything about his father.
So much so wants to learn about him.
So much to learn about the boy.
Yet not much time.
