When Hiccup gets home, the coat room is dark. The living room is dark. The whole first floor is dark. He doesn't know where Tom is and if he really does know that Hiccup went to the park at the middle of the night, he thinks its safe to go to his room.

"Hiccup." Says a voice. He turns around and sees Tom standing in front of the couch.

How did I not see him before?

"Where have you been?" He asked, obviously not happy.

"I couldn't sleep. So I took a walk." Said Hiccup, trying his best not to stutter.

He walks up to Hiccup. Hiccup tries not to fall from the threatening stare that is being thrown upon him. He gets pushed to the ground. His head hits the ground. Hard. Tom walks up to him and Hiccup can see the fury and rage in his eyes. He starts kicking Hiccup. He kicked him in the chest so hard, Hiccup could of sworn he felt one of his ribs break.

"Go to your room." Says Tom as he walks up the stairs. He hears the sound of a door slamming moments later. Hiccup doesn't get up for awhile. Once he does, breathing seems like a struggle. He gets his crutches from the floor and goes up to his room.

*****

The next day is even worse for Hiccup. It hurts to move and breath. To things he can't help or do anything about.

Once he is at school, he must of been more beaten up then he thought because people are whispering and pointing. Still not sure what to do with all this attention, he goes to his locker.

He gets his things and walks to Homeroom. He sees an empty chair next to nobody and goes to sit down. He gets out his journal and starts drawing in it again.

He doesn't even realize that the bell rang. He feels like he is being watched. He looks up and sees Astrid next to him, watching him draw.

"H-How long have you been there?" He asks.

"Since the bell ring. What are you drawing?"

Hiccup look down a the drawing. He didn't realize that he was drawing his family. His dad which he drew out of memory, him, and his mother, just like the way his father had explained how she looked.

"Oh... N-Nothing." He stutters. He closes the journal and puts it away. Astrid looks at him confused as to why he would hide it from her. Then she sees something. Bruises. Cuts. Strained breathing.

Hiccup looks even worse than before.

"Hiccup. Are you okay? You have bruises and a cut on your face and your breathing sounds strained."

Hiccup looks down. "Y-Yeah. I'm fine."

"Hey Hiccup." He looks at her. "Can I ask you something?"

"You just did." He smirks. Astrid slaps his arm. Hiccup laughs when a look of pain crosses his face.

"Are you okay?" she asks concerned. He nods.

"So. You wanted to ask me something?" Astrid nods.

"Promise me you won't get upset."

"I promise."

"Can tell Ruffnut what you said about your father last night?" Hiccup makes a face clearly thinking about it.On the bright side, he doesn't seem upset.

"Um... Not trying to be rude but... why?"

"Because. I trust Ruffnut. And If you even feel upset about what is going on at home, and you can't reach one of us, there is a second person to comfort you."

"Astrid, Ruffnut was never the type of person to be nice to me."

"Well. I could talk to her about it. I can make her understand and make her be nice to you."

"You might but what if she blabs. She could tell the whole school."

"Please. I want to help you."

"Fine. But only Ruffnut."

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She throws her arms around Hiccup, almost making him fall out of his chair.
