Bonus Chapter

Astrid and Ruffnut go into a separate room so nobody can hear them.

"What did you find?" Asks Ruffnut.

"I found his number. It took forever but I did." Astrid says excited.

"Then call!" Yells Ruffnut. Astrid slaps a hand over her mouth. Suddenly, her palm is wet. She rips it off her mouth, wiping it on Ruffnut's arm as she cracks up.

"Why did you do that?"

"Why did you put your hand on my mouth?"

"Because the boys will hear you!" snaps Astrid, making sure to be quiet enough so the boys don't hear them.

"Whatever, just call him." Astrid glares at her, sighs, and dials the number. It rings three times then someone picks up.

"Hello?" Says a man with a thick Scottish accent.

"Hi. Is this Stoick?"

"Yes it is. Who is this?"

"Um... you don't know me but my name is Astrid. I need to ask something of you."

"What may that be?"

"Um... did you have a son named Hiccup Haddock?"

Stoick is quiet. Astrid can hear him sigh. "Yeah. I did. Why?"

"Um... I wanted to know if you could come back."

"Why?"

"Um... I wanted to know if you... forgive me but disowned him."

"I'm afraid to say I did. But what does this have to do with anything you wanted to know?"

"Um... I have a feeling he is being mistreated at home after school. And I know that you might have a good reason for being upset but leaving him doesn't have a good enough excuse."

"Look, I know what I did was wrong. I wanted to go back as soon as I left,I just didn't know how. But I want to fix things with him."

"Really?" Astrid says, instantly raising up her hopes.

"But what makes you think he is being abused?"

"Well, I don't know if it has been worse but he has shown up at school all beat up and in pain. e looks nervous and tense around adults."

"What can I do?"

"Well, I know he has always wanted to be with his family again so I was thinking, you come back to Wisconsin, and We have assemblies very often. You could show up at one of them and surprise Hiccup. I know he won't be mad at what has happened. Only knowing him for a few months, I can tell he is very forgiving and doesn't hold grudges."

"Okay. Do you know when the next school assembly is?"

"In a few weeks."

"Okay. I'll come."

"Oh my gods. Thank you so much. You don't know how much I was hoping you were going to say that." Astrid full on ecstatic.

"Your welcome. Good-bye Astrid."

"Bye Stoick." She hangs up and faces Ruffnut. Her face says it all. She wants to know what happened.

"He's coming."
